Halfords 120 peice pro socket + spanner set £80.99

Looked into the halfrauds socket sets before christmas and to be honest i wasn't impressed (used to work in a tool shop when i was at school as the saturday gofer boy)

my lovely mummy treated me to a britool set which was £75ish put it through some pain today and im very happy with it all 6 point sockets which in my eyes is a bonus.....

We get the full whack. Elements, Corrosive Substances, Heat Damage, Sat in flooded basements, the list goes on. It's still easy to break the ratchets and sockets, the spanners are a bit sturdier, haven't killed one of them yet.

iv had a few of my halfords tools break, its usually the rachet mechanism though which isnt covered... but if you put it in a vice and snap the handle off with a bar then it is covered and you get a new one :idea:

at the shop i worked in you would be called a rough b#####d and laughed out of the shop (not halfords)

then again even with the "best" tools i know one local indi who's manager/owner told the snap on rep to go forth after several members of staff broke breaker bars and they refused to warranty them saying they had been abused

the other thing was i bent it the wrong way, had a crowd of staff coming to look at this twisted rachet, it was so obvious it had been done on purpose but they just gave me a new one

wow this thread has caused quite a stir lol...

got a tool chest + wheelie cab £45, 120pc set £81 and the 33pc rachet sanner set £35cost under £165 total

went machine mart brought a new jack and breaker bar + few other bits

then at weekend im going to my dads to get the rest of my kit (britool, teng tools) mostly sockets/spanners + feeler guages and things

always wanted to get a decent setup with tools lol, my mate down garage has nothing but bluepoint or snap-on

don't know if they better, but going by the irwins i know if you want 10" you best order a 14" as they exaggerate :slayer:
