Forum Tidy Up

In an effort to try and make everything look a lot neater, as well as reduce the main page size and stop people complaining that their "car is at the bottom" ;) - have reshuffled the forums and grouped them all together.

The old "General" forum is now just the cars name, with the Tech and Styling now sub categories of the main one....

If there are loads of objections, I can change it back - but I think this might be a better solution what with the models starting to stack up....?

Let me know (y)

I like it and I liked the first conotation too, it takes a bit of getting used to but I got over the fact of clicking into LTF when the newbie section first appeared so I can overcome this.

it's neater, but i still can't scroll down and see whats been posted in each. :s

I also don't think the MPV / Van forums are going to be active enough to warrant a forum for each model, like i said before - one forum of the MPVs and one for the Vans - with the models listed in the descriptions would do the job.

Maybe the same with some of the lesser seen FIATs, like have a Rare FIATs forum, with the cars listed in the description.

at the moment im personally not a fan.....

i find that im not entering the different sections as and only really reading the new posts in the general cinq / sei section as it is already open once u click it.

if that makes any sence.

but this could be just down to me not bein used to it yet

Perhaps the answer is that you should all own cars that don't have subsections, like Coupes and Pandas! :p

i do think it looks neater...

however maybe if when u clicked on (example) "cinqecento / seicento" then it should take u to a page similar to the older style... with the 3 sub section listed "general, styling, and techinal"

that way 1 section isnt already open, and u can see all 3 by each other and if there is a new post in each one u can go from there?

How dare you?! :p

I didn't really like the old 'new' format, but hoped it would grow on me - as soon as Ben did the revision last night to the new 'new' format, I said I liked it - my nose is clean :spin:

Lollage - no it was change due to the Grande Punto. After adding that in and realising the whole forum was starting to get very long with a noticable page size increase. Then as soon as another car comes out / its section takes off - thats another 3 forums to add to the list.

This was, it matters not how many are released as they are all in their own single row section, only splitting later when needed.

Also, not sure if you are aware, but the latest post listed under a forum on the front page is the latest from ALL of that cars section - so for example, if the newest thread was in the Technical section, this would show on the front page :D

And remember the coloured icons too, green means a new post, red, nothing new - this carries through to the little sub links as well....

:nutter: Please excuse me for sounding stupid, perhaps i am.If its all about space being required why do we have "general", "styling"and "technical" sections? Cant we lose the general and styling section and create just a single "body" section, cos in my opinion "general" is either technical or styling isnt it? If the thread you want to start doesnt come under either then shouldnt it be taken to LL under lets talk fiat? Like i said please excuse me if im talking bo*****s but i dont know much about PC,S and im an olden!!:( :shakehead
