Use any of the ignition controlled supplies.

If you have the fog light mounting inserts, the hole is just the right size for 70mm LED angel eye rings with clip-on covers (75mm OD). They would work with of without the fog lights.
Seal the back of the ring with electronics grade silicone or body panel acrylic sealant.

They will not meet construction and use regs but its unlikely that any aftermarket LEDs will do that.

I had a pair of this size angel rings on the bike. They stood out well in traffic without causing dazzle and always passed the MoT. Bearing in mind the quality of most driver's ability to see anything (never mind bikes), I wasn't too fussed about C&U regs.

Personally I think DRLs should be compulsory on motorbikes and pedal cycles, but cars are big enough already so why did they ever need them? All we have achieved now is a sea of dazzling LEDs with the bikes and cycles hidden in the glare.

Which of course is exactly what bike and cycle pressure groups predicted when DRLs were imposed on the motor industry.

That all said the Panda is small so bright white sidelights or if you must DRLs probably do make sense.

Which is why I have gone back to riding without headlight on, but wear flourescant jacket and yellow helmet, I am now the dark spot between all the lights!
amazing how many people shout at me that my headlight is off (like volvo drivers had in the 80's) which means I am being seen amongst the sea of bright lights.

A few weeks ago I was driving on Dartmoor. Typical Dartmoor weather - from thick fog to glorious sunshine in a few miles, and back again. In the fog you could see the cars with DRL's coming towards you (not as well as those with dipped headlights), but you couldn't see most of them when coming up behind them as the DRL's on many cars don't activate the rear lights.

Sorry, didn't see this post until now.
Have a look here: https://www.fiatforum.com/croma-ii/326285-drl-daytime-running-lights.html

The Ring BRL0402 are discontinued, but there are others similar if you look around. Ideally get some that are 'E' approved, so will have a connection to the sidelights to dim or go our when other lights are turned on.

The standard front fog position on the Panda is just high enough off the ground to meet the position regs.

Exactly why we are told to use dipped headlights in fog. Though many drivers cant resist the high power rear fogs which are usually unnecessary especially at night.

Don't do it!

Aftermarket DRLs look awful. I've never seen an install that looks remotely like it should be on the car.

Usually seen on cars sporting badly spaced numberplates in silly fonts and / or with In-gur-land logos on them.

I agree, most installations look awful. The Fiesta even manages to make the OE ones look like aftermarket add-ons.

Mine fit in the original foglamp holes, and look as if they belong. See my earlier post with link for pics. Had them in for a few years now, never had anyone comment on them. Perhaps they assume I'm just running the fogs.

The biggest problem with any kind of aftermarket DRL install is that they don't match the colour temperature of the headlamps. Mind you, I've seen some OEM installs that are mis-matched, too - and they look awful.

(BMW HIDs and LEDs are a great example of how to match your DRLs to the dipped beams!)

hi, not sure if i want to go ahead with these drl. still waiting for the controller,( which dims the lights when headlights switched on) gonna have a word with a m.o.t garage tomorrow. to make sure they are ok to fit. steve.

Missmatched colour temperature can indeed look rubbish, so just relay the DRLs to switch off when headlights are on. All fitted lights must work. After that, I doubt the MoT will care.
There used to be a rule that non compliant lights (such as high powered rally Cibies) could be covered so such lamps were sold with clip-on covers. Iv'e not see that sort of thing for years even on In-ger-lund cars.

I was going to fit small halo rings (because I have them) to surround the fog lamp - a bit like we see on some BMW Minis. But just got too much other stuff to do so don't even have the fogs on the car. They would be a bit on the low side so really not much point.
