Ha ha, like the Aircraft friendly version of Shaun Of The Dead:

" Shaun [Pete throws the CD out the window] That was the second album I ever bought!
Pete: It's four in the funking morning!
Shaun :It's Saturday!
Pete: No, its not, it's funking Sunday and I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours because every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm so funking angry?
Ed: Funk yeah!
Shaun : Hey! Pete, look, I'm sorry, we had a couple of drinks, we split up with Liz tonight.
Pete: Look, just keep it down, yeah?
Ed: Prink."

Love it!

Smooth H, Smooth! LOL

Well haven't got around to getting to see snakes on a plane so will leave it to DVD time.

What I did see over the weekend was:

Scary Movie 4: Lame series of films excluding the first one which was ace, seems the Wayans have bowed out and The Naked Gun peeps are doing these flicks now, very few funny bits for me not even some token nudity(n)

Inside Man: Was expecting greatness, now maybe drinking Absolut with frequent **** breaks aren't ideal conditions for movei watching but I was left thinking Why? How? etc from this movie, for me even worse than Miami Vice (for the record, MV has some redeeming features, this does not)

Firewall: Run of the mill thriller, Mr Ford showing his age now, decent enough watch but nothing to write home about.

vanity projects, the name alone is enough to make you way, am i going to be seeing martial arts mad wesley kicking ass in blade? maybe worthy but oh so dull and misleading crap from mel, braveheart and the patriot? maybe it'll be arnie with the ultimate homage to 80's action, the truely awful last action hero. a bit of brue slyly hamming it up in the underatted hudson hawk?

regardless they all have one thing in common, to put the star well and truely stage centre, it's his show, it succeeds or bombs on his ability alone, because he wants to do it.

but something that just this small selection all have in common, among others, is a solid history and track record leading up to the preening self centred navel gazing "look at me"

something jack black doesnt quite have...and on his latest outing never will. school of rock and shallow hal have been 2 leading roles, whereas the rest are general support and ensemble, providing a little showboating here and there.

nacho libre (bet you were wondering"wheres the fricking review?") is most def in the mel gibson mould of self love, no point, crap direction, balls to the support, a series of attempted skits that are never really connected, or even funny, tenacious d fanboy wannabees will force themselves to love it, to quote it because they are expected to, the rest of us....will think belushis dead man, get your own schtick and stop trying to copy a man who's been dead whos been dead nearly a quarter century and who could whip you silly just by turning up.

the upside: there was a trailer for hot fuzz, follow up to shaun of the dead, looks in the same vein, which is great, but way, way, way more action "now thats what i'm talking about!!"

THERES A TRAILER!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT FOR SO LONG!!

Righty oh!

Running Scared:- starring Jai's favourite mono expression actor Paul Walker, this induced sleep upon me after 30 or 40 mins, I like 18's etc but this had so much unecessary swearing it was unbelievable! I also couldn't care less if he managed his objective or not eithers.

Final Destination 3:- only got it since I had seen the 1st two and was greeted by a run of the mill below par teen gore flick, every death was what seemed to be poor CGi and the film was entirely done by nobodys. HATED IT!

Big Mommas House 2:- Thought the 1st one was great, recently thought Martin Lawrence was doing some crap films and that this would be a cash in flick but I was pleasantly suprised, it's ropey at the beginning but once it gets going it's a good laugh.

Looking foreward to Crank, looks like a proper film :D

come on, statham is about as close to an 80's style action hero as we are going to get for the foreseeable future, besson and leterriur have put him through the mill and back time and again, and he still has the goods, i'm a big fan of his knowing sly action man with humour schtick
