I must live in a time warp!! never heard of Hot Fuzz until now (hangs head in shame) Loved Shaun of the Dead! Just watched trailers for HF and cant wait to see it now. Thanks Jen for bringing that to my attention :)

My two cents, I liked SawIII.
It wasn't as gory as I expected, but still alright.

Borat tommorrow night :D

on a totally differant note... anyone seen Battle Royal 2...

what a heap of ****!! the first film was great... but this was pathetic...

just wasted 3 hours hoping it got better at the end.. which it didn't....(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)

First Battle Royale is a legend, 2 isn't bad, it just had too much to live up to.

First film is incredible.. we used to watch it during english...

i was in the loser class..

Best bit is the grenade through the windown (if you've seen it you know what i mean)

second was just a bit flawed...

Yeah i know what you mean, I always wondered how the hell random kid's knew how to handle all the weaponry and stuff . Mind you they are Japanese, therefore can put their hand to anything in a few minutes

ok here it is, a new bond, a new era? not quite, jason bourne got there first, and in a straight fight bourne would hand bond the beating of a lifetime, and then finish him off with a biro through the eyesocket before james knew what had hit him.

times have moved, eastern blocs have dissolved, old enemies are new friends, stereotypes of the bad guys are blurred, but bond just plodded through relying on the paying publics goodwill, like for a senile old family member, to see him through another year. as has been said many times before, what could have been a killer send off for brosnan was brought to a thudding end with the inclusion of an invisible car and a cgi wave ride that was drawn by a 5 year old with crayons.....

having said that, the black and white precredit opener is a good start, followed by the free running expolits through a building site and embassy, perfectly showing the diffrence in styles, lithe agile villian, sledgehammer bond....

step forward paul haggis, killer scriptwriter, who on this occasion faxed in a poor job, a romantic subplot that appears from nowhere, villians with about as much danger as kim jong il's team america puppet, and interplay with M that leaves you cringing.....

martin campbell, who was asked to kickstart bond last time with brosnan, does try hard, but whilst he out does goldeneye, falls short of injecting the nastiness of no escape

which brings us to the new boy, daniel craig will make a great bond, his look is about as far removed from what bond is expected to be as you can imagine, and thats a good thing, he's got a muscular physicality about him, and a certain arrogance, it's just a pity that since so much of what would be expected had to be booted of the script and new ideas sketched in, he doesnt get a chance to explore a great character. he does take the kicking and beating of a lifetime through the film (including one bit thats kneeclenchingly nasty, and yet funny too)

but his time will come and with it a chance to overshadow the man who casts the longest 007 shadow, its been 40 years, but lets face it, connery may rock, but thunderball, you only live twice and diamonds suck like jenna, dr no only gets a look in for ursula, only goldfinger and from russia with love stand the test, once all teh right elements come together it'll be "sean who?"
