I'll come back to this.
I am talking about poor reporting in the press, you're the one on about numbers
Now this is what is known as a
Straw man fallacy or argument.
The original statement was about the low death rate being reported in Norwich, to which your original and exact reply was
"not sure on that one"
think it is fair to say beyond all reasonable doubt that I have provided adequate information to back the news article up.
That argument and what you where refuting was very much one of
numbers.
Now you claim what you are arguing all along was poor reporting in the press, and that this was your argument all along and that you have somehow won that argument (you stake this claim by making comments about having to have the last word). Except the reporting in the press is accurate and truthful so I don't see how you can say it was "poor reporting"
You seemingly do not agree with the story and you have an opinion about whether or not they should report it. However it is data that is in the public domain for all to see. Anyone can go to the ONS website and see that data. so in light of your belief that reporting this data is some how dangerous, would appear to go against the government's belief that it should be reported as it was the government who reported it in the first place. So... why is it "poor reporting" to put that information out in the media?
note the difference in how to report and still maintain the importance of the lockdown
with only x number of deaths we have the lowest numbers of mortality in the country
or
it is sad to report their have been x number of fatalities a reminder of how important it is to maintain social distance etc....…..
or are you going to get the last word in again...…….
I'm not taking the story on anything more than face value and its clear you have not read the article. The article concentrates on what the health services in the area is doing differently to other areas and what can be learned from this area to improve outcomes in other areas. The tone of the article is very much on the importance of continuing to maintain social distancing and self isolation, I essence, Norwich does it better than other places other places should do what Norwich does.
You're arguing yourself in circles because you didn't read the article, you just took offence because it contradicted something you believed to be true.
Throwing in the comment about "having to have the last word" is not going to make be suddenly back down. In fact the way in which you are doing this is to dare me to once again challenge your points. "do you dare have the last word or concede that I am correct" well in this instance you are arguing with yourself about a point I never made.
My point still stands, Norwich has the lowest rate of deaths by population, the evidence is clear to see, this is posted on a government website. Everything else you've had to say about it is your opinion of which I am not arguing, if that's your opinion, super, I am however asking, if the government don't believe this information to be "dangerous" why do you?
This back and forth however does not change the original fact nor your initial response to it..... "not sure on that one" well its there in black and white.
.........oh how you make me laugh?
