Hi.
I’m new and pretty desperate. First the problem is not like others posted here before I get oh no another ComfortMatic problem.
I was on tour in Norway and started to get slipping in all gears above 1st. Felt like a slight bit of traction but not enough to get beyond 40 on flat rd.
No engine management lights. No noise. Went from a slight slip to bad in 20 miles. Q1st and reverse seem ok. Got towed to a Fiat dealer near Trondheim. They said it’s the clutch (about £3000). I wasn’t convinced it was but they are the experts. It wasn’t the clutch but they fitted a new one and master and slave cylinder. Checked the flywheel, pump ect. Found some metal filings in the clutch solenoid but didn’t follow it up. New fluids bled and calibrated and still no good. I had all new robotics fitted by a Fiat dealer in England last November (£6000) so maybe a warranty issue except it’s in Norway. They have now had it 7 weeks and my 90 day insurance is going to run out in 2 weeks.
The garage has run out of ideas so I’m hoping someone on here has experienced it. I think it’s not selecting the gears just the synchro.
