cheap dash cam?

I have the Mobius Camera and its not bad, very small you can hardly see it in the car, you can see the review on it here
here it is in the car

IR is great - until you put it close to a windscreen - then all you see is whiteout - even with the cam at a very sharp angle to the screen, it still gives a whiteout.
On a reversing cam, on the outside of the car, it is fantastic.

Have to agree, that camera looks pretty good!! Would like it even more if it came in a dual camera setup.

Also I see it only come with suction cup mounts...maybe someone will have them with sticky pad mounts soon!!

Read something a while ago about problems with faster cards having problems recording multiple files at the same time. Always best to use a class 4 or 6.

Trouble with the dual cam is that you could, potentially, be recording 4 files at the very same time - with the normal files from the front and rear cams plus lock files as well.

Was is class speed or card size? I thought anything more than 16gb caused issues?

That quality is awful.

I almost had a coming together with a black cab the other night. I was driving past a load of parked cars (they were on my offside so i had right of way).
Just as I was getting to the end of the line, a black cab pulled around the end car & only just made it into a small gap.
I slammed on my brakes to avoid collision and HE had the cheek to sound his horn - like I should've given way to him?
Reviewed the footage & quality is appalling. The plate is almost blanked by reflections off my lights - but even rear footage is bad.
I thought I could get away with using the F70 as I don't really do any night driving, but this was teatime the other week.

I've ordered a G1W - a shade over £30 and the night quality isn't bad, looking at the footage on Techmoan's YT clip.
When I can assess the actual size, I'll see if it'll fit nicely in the rear screen & maybe consider buying another for a dual cam setup.

I might consider relegating the F70 to cover the front sides - I'll have to see if I have the room first though - the quality is good enough to cover in the event of a flash for cash event.

Sorry MEP, just noticed this.
I'm sure the original issue was regarding the ability of class 10s to write multiple files at the same time - although looking at my card, I seem to have installed a class 10 16gig card.
I don't know without going off on a search again.
Maybe it's a combo ?
Maybe 32gig class 10 is too much for the camera to handle whereas 16 is OK OR a 32 gig class 6 is OK?

I think one of the solutions I found was to stop the g-sensor dropping files to the card - at this point, the device would have to write 4 identical files at the same time (normal a & b as well as lock a & b) as well as continue to record...!

Keep us posted on the G1W, I am considering getting one. Are you buying from eBay or elsewhere?
Ebay - from the link in Techmoan's video clip.

Just to add - this seller (estore) also posts on the dashcam forum

So any problems 'should' get resolved.

(Unlike the crap some of us have had to put up with from the people that gave us the DR32)

Jeez, every time one comes along that looks like it may be alright, it turns out that there are loads of problems with them :(

Cant anyone make a decent car cam?

It all seems to be hit and miss.
As MEP says, no issues with the dual cam (although night quality on mine is ropey) - yet loads say their is poor.
I'm still using my old DOD camcorder/dashcam after many years' service.
My DR32 really is the pits - crap audio & now it randomly stops recording (whilst giving the appearance of recording!)

I think some of the manufacturers on dashcam forums are getting tired of me keep banging on about my ideal setup - two remote cams linked to a dvr which can be hidden.
THEY concentrate on chucking more and more tech into smaller units (or even more & more into medium sized units) whereas they need to look at improving quality and reliability & stop worrying about looks - I even told one I didn't care if he stuck the bits in a plastic sandwich box - but no, he's concerned about tooling for some super product - yeah, and I expect it'll have a super price tag to match.
I tell them - concentrate on getting the basic system right (good video (especially night) & audio, cycle record, on/off with ignition & ability to mount very discretely (so remote lens)) before you start chucking in the bells and whistles (GPS, G sensor etc)
