I'm sorry everyone for repeating myself, I thought my first message had been 'lost in the ether', when in fact it had just started a new page.
I do feel silly!

The micro switch tells the ECU when the lock latch has engaged. When it does not get the signal it expects all sorts of shinnaigans takes place. I had to have the RAC open my daughters Seat which re locked its self because it though the door had not opened after unlocking, so it locked its self, with the keys in the ignition....... and the spare ket in Manchester when the car was at my place in Norfolk. Need less to say a new lock has been fitted before it repeated the trick. It did take me 18 months to get round to it....

A word of warning, I bough a cheap lock from ebay. It arrived and looked rather poor quality compared to the original so I didnt fit it, bought a better quality part from GSF.
I wish I had just repaired the thing as soon as it started playing up. Its easier in the end!

I had the microswitch problem a few years ago, it would sometimes unlock the tailgate while the car was being driven, or when the ignition was being switched on.
I got a new tailgate handle, but unfortunately it was the type without the microswitch. A trip to Maplins got me a couple of microswitches, I can't remember the p/n, but the second one is ready to fit and measures 20 X 10.5 X 6.26mm. Cut off the middle terminal and use a*self tapping screw 10.5mm total length by 3mm dia thread. The screw goes in the hole at the same end as the switch button. The wires are soldered on and the microswitch fitted and adjusted. If your ears are good, you can hear the contacts click when the handle is about halfway through its movement. I sprayed the switch with Scotchguard water repellent shoe spray and it has been going strong for several years.
The only special tools needed are to remove the tailgate liner.
Leave the liner off until the adjustment of the microswitch is confirmed by testing.

No, but if you take off the plastic cover on the inside, it "should" be apparant.. - it was just a suggestion/idea, I don't know if it would work.

Hi TobiasBB do you remember which relay is it?

There won't be a relay specifically for the back door. I suspect you problem is the switch stuck "on" as if you are pressing the button. When the ignition is turned on, the door opens. Disconnect the door handle switch inside the rear door. Clean or replace the switch or live with using the key.

Hi DaveMcT. I'm actually trying to add "remote" locking to my "eco" panda. So I've got (from scrap yard) driver site lock with engine inside and door whole wires up to the connectors in cabin. Then I've added aftermarket remote control unit and it works fine.
But I've also got boot lock with electric solenoid and boot handle with micro switch. Unfortunately the switch is no activating solenoid even if all wires already there. I think there must some relay (as high current is needed) or there is module somewhere (as something must "know" when locks are unlocked to let handle micro switch operates.
But if I won't find it I will add own relay to activate boot solenoid when required...

The boot microswitch sends a signal to the body computer, which then sends current to operate the latch. Your body computer is not expecting a signal from the bootswitch, so ignores it.
With MultiECUscan it might be possible to turn this function on, or it may just not be programmed. If there were wires provided for the boot latch, you might be lucky.

The easiest way to add a boot switch handle to a manual boot lock would be to fit your own relay. It might work without but a relay makes sure the lock microswitch never sees high currnent.

Hi

Yes, it must be in ECU or it is the module behind fuses in cabin. Signal cable from micro switch and power cable from solenoid is going to the unit.

I even went to scrap yard to get it and see what it inside but it's almost impossible to remove without at least drill which I didn't bring with me.

Also signal from micro switch must be ignored when car is locked as anyone would be able to open boot at any time.

As my module is not powering solenoid or as pointed, ECU is not programmed I will just use own relay which will be activating by micro switch and remote key module (which I also installed) but only when car is unlock...
...I was hoping more "plug and play" but it's FIAT so ... :)

Power the relay and the micro switch from an ignition controlled power source. There might be one in the rear light clusters.

TBH mine has been refusing to open in wet weather (needs cleaning). Using the key is no big deal so I've not got it fixed.

As said your microswitch must be stuck in the ON position. It might simply need cleaning.
