you dont have to go around a painted roundabout, they are just to show rounabout rules apply, ie give way to the right, and your dad is correct, you dont indicate right when going straight over

Sorry dave but thats wrong the solid white spot should be treated the same as a Solid white line (rule 188 HWC) unless your driving a vehicle that physically cant make the turn (such as a HGV) it is possible to be granted with a FPN £60 and 3 Points if plod feels that way out.
