There are garages that are open other than the motorway service stations, so you shouldn't have to pay excessive prices for fuel.

No extra money, I get paid by the year and my contract includes emergency rotas . The problem is we are closed for so long this year and someone has to do it! It's not just major emergencies either - last year on NY someone came in because they had run out of loo roll

Running out of loo roll could be an emergency if not dealt with tho, you have all seen the scene in Train Spotting entitled the "World's Worst Toilet" thats what can happen
