Hi

I have a Fiat 500x Firefly 2021. I purchased this car and all gas been relatively good until June this year. I driving along and 2 warning lights came on dash. Parking assist not available and Check automatic Braking. I took car back into Fiat garage where they read the electrics and reset everything. This again happen in September but car reset itself. This has again happened to me. The car is again going back into garage. Is this a common issue and any suggestions when I get to garage what to ask. Thanks for any ideas.

The garage shouldn't just re-set everything a second time. The error code should have a diagnostic procedure, which they need to investigate.

It's more likely to be a faulty sensor or connection to it rather than a real error.. but often the car is telling the truth..

I can't comment on any garage performance etc. as they all vary. However all modern cars are likely throws errors, wobblies from time to time and once they occur then the issues might be minor or more deep.

A starting point for any modern car owner, IMHO, is to get some form of Code Reader or more advanced diagnostic reader. If nothing else they will allow you to personally ready the error codes. As they say "Fore Warned is Fore Armed" and you will now be going to a garage blind. Assuming your Fiat does not have the SGW blocker then you can try resetting the error code and see what happens.

There is no real magic in this. The only possible confusion is that some cheap code readers will not discriminate between faults logged and faults present. All modern ECU keep a list of past/logged errors which will be deleted if they do not appear again (withing some timeframe), and present faults.

Note all the fault codes. Clear them and then reinspect after a while / driving etc.

From there you can go visit the garage/dealer with a little more info, personal knowledge etc,. and even question their "well reset everything and see what happens".
