Sorry to ask stupid questions again..... but does anyone know where I can source a decent Cam for my new engine? I have rung around a few companies but I can't seem to find one... Piper say they can re-profile one for me but i would prefer a proper Cam.

Thanks for any help that anyone can give :D

So are you 100% sure this will work? I just phoned Fiat and they quoted me £250 but said they will get back to me. He just phoned me back and told me it would now be about £150 - he got them to change the price :D

I hope this works in the engine!!

Thanks mate!

Chris

no mate i aint 100% sure, but the only difference between the 60 and 75 engines is that the 75 is an MPI with a hotter cam, so produces more HP than the SPI 60 engine...

so in theory if the only difference is the injection then the cams should b the same, well the 75 i think is uprated compared to the 60 so therefore it would b like putting an normal upratred cam in.

at least i think that is the theory, i am sure somone like aaron, pete or david will b around shortly to tell u for sure tho! (y)

Id get one from a scrap engine personally. Should be able to pick one up for £35-40 tops.

I got one in my 75 head (Its going into my 1242cc SPi Head once I do something about it!)

all depends on money man, i suppose a razor edged re profiled cam would prob add more power, but would cost a lot more, especially if u buy a spare cam for them to profile, where as u can just buy a 75 cam, give it a clean, slap in in your engine in a couple of hours an u are good to go!

apparently the cam that novitec sell as a performence cam for the 1108cc and 1242cc spi engines is the same as the punto75 cam.

If you were to get one from a scrap yard, wouldnt you need the shims out of that head as well?
