Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help me - pretty chuffed off to say the least!

Having waved politely at a neighbour I rarely speak to, I managed to scrape my two-year old, previously un-damaged alloy down the #!"@ing the curb.

Having looked at it, it may not be that bad. I have some fine wet 'n dry (as it hasn't dented really), but obviously it has scrapped the shiny/sparkely lacquer/paint stuff off. Does any one have any ideas on a colour match product or something/anything?! Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks, Mark.

Unfortunately I can't help you, but thought i'd chip in to ask the same question again. I stupidly managed to curb my wheel on thursday. I am so annoyed at myself! Never done it before. Anywat, I would also very much like some advice on making it look as back to normal as possible. So if anyone has some useful tips or tricks, or a shiny spare alloy, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you post a picture of the damage at all? I think you have a couple of options IMO,

1. Call out a smart repair person, who can repair and paint the wheel in the back of a van and do a decent job, will cost money

2. Do the repair yourself, depending on how bad it is theres not a lot to it, if it is only paint damage then you should be able to flat the paint back around the repair, prime, then respray, most alloys are painted a standard silver but to make sure you could make enquiries with Fiat, if you do chose to do it yourself and you have no place to keep things warm then I'd suggest leaving it till the warmer weather, I tend to repaint mine every few months but the paint goes off very quick in comparison to that you'd use regardless of temperature :)

Thanks for your responses. I'll try and get a pic on tomorrow, but from what I can tell it just seems to have taken the paint/lacquer off. I've had a look and found these guys...

...but paint match does seem a problem - they do a fiat kit, but my wheels are quite different to my wifes grande sporting, so can't see how one kit fits all.

And this fella says there are only 9 silver types and can match. Both of them seem to be paint on rather than spray.

Has anyone used anything similar and got a good match? There must be something?!

Does the fact that the Pandamonium kit alloys not precisely silver cause problems repainting them? my front passenger wheel is dinted from having to get out of the way of a fire engine a while ago... actually that said I've such bad colour definition its mostly the dints that are pissing me off not the discolouration! Fiat Auto Ireland could easily just be fitting the pinstripe/red callipers/wing mirrors and not the shadow alloys for all I know; I'd never tell the difference.

I did mine in too, that's all 4 of them since November, bloody mirrors are so tiny!

Hi, I had my 2 front wheels marked on my 100hp when i got the tyres replaced, To be fair to the garage they refubed all 4 and can't be more happier so don't be scared of getting them done! I use to have white 17inch compo's on my Lancia and to say i was p~@?ed when i curbed them once was a understatement!! So i feel your pain!!

Dont even bother trying to do them yourself its really cheap to have it done by a proffesional. I scraped the drivers side alloy wheel and had it rubbed down and resprayed for £20. The paint wasnt an exact match but seriously you really cant tell its so close. The job the guy did was perfect and smooth and wouldnt hesistate to use him again.

Oh and the Pandemonium pack wheels are no different from the standard 100HP wheels. The pack just included red calipers, side stripe and silver wing mirrors. I ordered my car with the pack and they are no different.
