Hi, I’ve noticed a funny rattaling noise coming from my car when I drive without my foot on the accelator or just after I change gears. I can’t hear the noise with my windows up. It doesn’t effect the drive just annoying to listen to. It’s a Fiat Punto Evo 2010. Does anyone know what this noise could be? I’ve taken it to a couple of garages and they can’t diagnose it. Very strange

Does it ONLY do it while driving

Or can you replicate it stationary?

Can quite often be something like the heat shield on the catalytic converter coming loose with age

There are also a lot of plastic trim pieces on the bottom of the Evo so could also be one of those coming free.

I have a noise too, sounds like someone scrunching a crisp packet under the bonnet, it’s faint but I can hear it. Sound is coming directly in front on me somewhere. Drives me insane! I thought is was a loose wire, air coming in from the hole in the wheel arch (coil spring snapped and punched hole), air flowing through grill etc but no luck.

Going to mention it to FAST when I take it in for it’s MOT next month, he knows puntos like the back of his hand [emoji4]
