Just had my radio out to check the inputs and it does have the right connections to hook up a flying lead for mp3 players etc. Note this is only if you have the mp3 version of the headunit, the necessary pins aren't there on the non mp3 one as Soepy showed us in this thread...

All you need to connect it up are three of the little connectors that go into the yellow mini ISO plug and a 3.5mm stereo jack on how ever long a lead you need. Then you just have to press the CD key twice to get it to display AUX. Details here...

These Panda and GP headunits are essentially the same, bar the faceplate obviously,

Works fine on mine by wedging the wires into the relevant holes, just need to get the little pins to put into the yellow plug to make it permanent. Autoleads supply these, part number M-47, so just need to get to my local ICE dealer.

In all honesty, a babelfish translation of the first page of that italian site will tell you all you need to know, it's only three wires and there's a wiring diagram on the side of every headunit. Literally splice the two common connections from a fly lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack or whatever you need for your device on the end, insert in relevant holes as per diagram, job's a good un.

Yes, I can confirm that mine (1.2 Eleganza from March '06) does not have the required pins. Too bad. Guess I'm stuck with that FM transmitter.

sounds good (y)

Having just looked a the Autoleads catalogue I noticed that they also sell a mini-ISO to female phono cable. The mini-iso may be the bigger one (it is blue) but the pins are the same. If you don't have a soldering iron or crimping tool then you could buy this and pull the pins out (push the barbing edge/flange down and pull) and push them into the yellow mini-iso housing on the back of the Panda's HU.

The blue one is the one from the other end of the three that are joined on these headunits, the middle is green.

That lead looks like it should work but it's a bit steep for around a tenner.

Any idea how much the release keys are?

There are no prices in the catalogue downloaded from their website (PDF).

I wonder if the Autoleads dealers stock the necessary or if the bits have to be ordered..

Cheers.

Made mine out of coathangers, works fine. Proper keys will cost between £2 and £5 depending where you go, plenty on Ebay too.

Easy peasy, have a good look and you'll see, not really worth describing it.

Hi

I appreciate this is an old thread, but my NON-MP3 compatible unit HAS the connections on the yellow ISO to accept a cable and it works fine.

My cars a march 2007 multijet, without the MP3 logo on the front and totally incompatible with MP3 cds (I know, I've tried countless ways of burning them with no luck!!!)

I'd suggest pulling the unit out and having a look on the rear, if it's got this label attached

then you're in luck.

I cannibalised the connectors and lead from a blue mini iso connector lead purchased from Ebay and it clipped straight into the existing yellow plug, it was very easy, cost me £9.

Hope this helps.

Perhaps they updated the non mp3 version at the same time as they introduced the other one as my original non mp3 version was missing the vital pins and didn't have the aux option in the menus so would never have been able to use them if they were there.

Hi

Don't know if you've seen this thread where I am trying to fit a Dension 100 kit to my non-MP3 head unit.

The blue ISO plug that comes with the Dension kit has (from memory) 7/8 wires in it, but the yellow part of the Blaupunkt head unit has about 3 available terminals. I just don't see how it's going to work!

I presume the new 100 and the iceLINK are much the same, so I'd be interested in how you got it to work.

Cheers.

Ive just tried this on my GPunto the only thing is it (the lead) picks up interference from the engine you can hear the whir of the engine as you rev it..

Call me Mr Thicko Thicky but where exactly do I plug my two mini connectors that I have removed from the blue iso connector into the yellow connector:confused:???? The two mini conncetors are attached to the 3.5mm jack by the way.

Is it AF-R and AF-L??

If you could circle them on the image or something that would be great!! My local ICE place wanted to charge me £55 for doing this!!!!

Cheers:slayer:

So, in a nutshell this would work on the 100hp headunit to connect an IPod?

I understand all the wiring easy but got confused with all the links back and forth to what car it works on
