Hi if I fit after market 30mm lowering springs on my 169 1.2 panda will the ride be as smooth
Or will it stiffen it up ie more sportier
 
marginal ground clearance as it is.

its fairly easy to hit the exhaust and sump as it is.


manufacture spend millions on r&d the standard ride height will be where the suspension geometry will be at its best.


however you can upgrade the shocks and or springs and maintain standard ride height

but this will be have a negative affect on comfort. There's no free launch.


if you original shocks are worn out, there will be a noticeable improvement just by replacing them
 
The truth is ime trying to soften the ride on my 100hp I want to fit 1.2 springs for comfort
But don’t want the extra 30mm in ride height

So if I were to fit 1.2 springs lowered by 30mm would they then be the same as the standard 100hp springs
 
confused the car morphed from a 1.2 to a 100hp

however the 100hp rear suspension is known to bottom out on the stock bump stops. Fitting the shorter coupe ones should be a good start and fairly cheap.
 
Plus one for short bump stops on the 100HP, but the OEM springs look like 1.2 springs cut short. Consequently, the ride is hard.

I fitted Fiat 500 rear springs from a 2015 car. They a lot softer and drop the ride height. I brought that back with a spring top rubber cush at both ends. Handily that also helps to protect the axle spring pan.

The cost was £20 all in, the ride is considerably better and height is unchanged. For additional cost, Bilstein or similar performance springs offer a rising rate so the initial bump is softer but you get less bottoming out on the bump stops.
