Panda Eleganza DV04DXC in Albert Looms scrapyard with 222k on it

I used to love Albert Looms both really useful and really frustrating when the part you wanted had been trashed or already taken.

The Eleganza front spot lamps housings are handy for fitting pencil beam LED spots with Angel Ring daylights.

Consecutive numbers 234567 miles now on my 2010 Panda Eco! not too far now to a quarter million miles - off for a 3000 mile Scottish 2 week tour Monday

Hi just noticed this thread so thought I would pop in. My utterly reliable 07 Panda Active 1.1 just passed 134k miles. Showing it's age now, new o/s shock absorber, something went on the wheel that made it loose (I sort of understood at the time but I,m no car mechanic).Bought new. At least 10-11 years of virtually zero cost motoring before age related stuff happened. I see it as pay as you go now. Still very cheap motoring.
Roof is peeling somewhat but it seems to happen to red cars.
one new battery, original exhaust.
My next car will be new. Buy new and drive it 'till it drops is my policy.
Any thoughts of electric cars? We seem to be on a cusp. I shall probably buy petrol but a little tempted by electric.

Good to hear your 1.1 has been such a faithful companion!:)

As for electric, might be right for you depending on how you use your car. There's a lively discussion going on regarding this, including some forum members who are running EVs here:https://www.fiatforum.com/leisure-l...tric-present-small-car-options-confusing.html

Just realised I haven't added my own to this thread yet...
Currently on 105k miles, acquired October 2018 on 92k

I did have a (very) muted celebration as the clock rolled on to 100,000, on the road home from the ferry at about 3AM with the girlfriend asleep in the passenger seat.

I'm a big fan of these little cars. Mostly because it's so much fun for bombing around country lanes:) 17 years old and rust-free (rear axle, sump and coolant pipe treated for rust), the 1.2 FIRE is a gem of an engine, never loses any fluids, averages about 50mpg.

Still on original springs, shocks, exhaust, and (I think) rear brakes.

In the 2 1/2 years we've owned her she's had a new timing belt, new front lower suspension arms and a new clutch.

Clutch was slipping due to oil contamination caused by failed crankshaft main rear seal @103k miles, so this was replaced along with new input shaft bearing and seal.

Rear wheel cylinders have started weeping, and the battery struggled a bit with lack of use over winter so those'll be next... Just Panda-ing to its needs:)

Many thanks to everyone on here who's helped me keep her in such fine fettle!

Is the sun setting on our Panda? No!
Well, yes, it is, obviously, but you know what I mean

The Shed got to 130k today. I noticed from my last post on this thread that it's taken 13 months to do 10k. Considering apart from the MOT and Festival Italia in August it's been parked up from May until this month still racking up the miles as reliably as ever. Love this car!

Spike

Well eight months later and another 10k on the clock.
Nothing major to report, changed the brakes and found a broken spring at the back. New springs and shocks waiting to be fitted.

Spike

My Blue ‘60 Reg Active has only just ticked over 43,000 miles so barely run in.

Is there room for my ‘93 Panda Selecta with just over 109,000 (mainly London miles) on the clock ?

My 100HP now has 120,000. It's on it's third clutch due to a slow oil leak from gearbox oil seal. Cam belt replaced recently because the water pump was leaking at the core plug. That was a faulty pump not the car's fault. Back axle zinc metal sprayed for £80 so no worries ever again with rot on that. Underfloor is clean.

On Journey to southampton today and Mileage display went to - - - - - was on 248548 Miles which is 400000 KM exactly and thats the max Please Fiat how can this be reset to continue as MOT will be unregistered for mileage
Yes that is the limit on the earlier Fiat dash. Now it’s been upped to 1 million miles

As for a solution, I believe they can be reprogrammed back to zero with special equipment but this is something I haven’t tried myself.
