You know the clonk we often hear on the 100HP when going around tight corners? Well it has just become a lot more frequent since getting my tracking changed. The change to my rears were negligible, so I don't think that could have done it. I have had my wheels off since the tracking was done and there aren't any obvious differences.

Any ideas what the problem could be? It even happens in a straight line now, and it's quite irritating.

it happens during cornering? how man miles has your car done?

i dont know if its a common problem but you should check the lower ball joint and the track rod ends, raise the car up and try to wobble the front wheel side to side if it makes the noise then the track rod ends need replacing, try shaking it top and bottom if it makes the noise then its lower ball joint,

also check you top mounts are secure i had a friend with a similar problem on his clio but it turned out he hadnt tightend the top mounts up properly after lowering his car.

I wouldnt rule out drop links on the panda its a common enough problem on the fiat range of cars ..not one to be over looked..:)

Hi,

I've only just purchased a 100HP with the exact same mileage / years on the road and the beggar is clonking at slow speeds round tight bends when I hit a slight bump - seems to be from the passenger side of the steering (not sure of exact location).

I've now reached a point that I'm convinced its not just me being paranoid cause its my new toy (constantly listening out to make sure she's perfect etc etc) so planning on taking it back. Weirdly though on normal bendy roads I cant ever hear a thing and its not all tight slow bends that produce the clonk - i usually need to bump over something as well??

Are there reports of a common mysterious clonk that no mortal mechanic can fix on these ear 100HP's?

Took my HP in this morning to have the clonk looked at. It turned out to be the ball joint that was damaged so three hours later and a new wishbone I got my HP back and it's now clonkless!:) Hope thats some help although I guess theres a hundred and one causes of clonks
