General Third year service plus MOT cost?

Cant quote on a Panda, but my father in law has just had his Mazda 2 1.4 petrol Mot'd and serviced, £447 total amount.
In this amount was 2 front tyres, new gas in air-con system, timing belt, and a pollen filter which cost £48.
So maybe your mum's bill was not so bad after all.

I was told by my garage that the cost cycles (for 1.1 active anyway). First year just over £100 for service, then just over £200 (which is accurate to date!), back down to £100, then £200 again and so on for the basic service, no extras.
MOT is £45, probably bit more from Fiat. Tyre seems alright at £30.
So based on what I've been told for the 1.1 active you should be looking at around £200 tops for the third year service and MOT.

Jai, how many sets of brake pads have you gone through on the Panda? How many miles have you done? I just thought disks would last a bit longer than 3 years.

Thanks
CP

one set at 22000 miles, about 95% of which is stop/start town driving. the only reason the discs were changed was that the mrs didnt tell me there was a slight grinding noise, ie the pads were worn out and the backs were going onto the discs, by the time i knew, was too late and the perfectly good discs were ruined
