I don't have access to oxy acetylene....anyone got a recommendation for a blow torch for rusty bolts? Maybe something that will double for plumbing?

A cheapo one from Aldi or a local DIY store will be fine. Just make sure you can get replacement nozzles. For fine stuff and smaller soldering, Maplins do Iroda's "Micro-Jet" which refils from gas lighter Butane.

Expensive but exceptionally good and the gas cylinders seem to last forever, I would avoid anything too small as you struggle to get enough heat into the work piece especially if you want even heating of a big-ish component

how much you want to spend as andyrkett above that with Map gas is hotter than propane or butane

its helped me in no end of situations - upto 1000 deg C
More then enough to crack that stubborn bolts on my manifold and odds and sods

Its a wide nozzle, so its okay for certain situations

The gas is cheap too! £2

For some basic DIY tasks its a +1 for me

i must admit i end up using the gas cooker to get mine started some times as the gas can often blow out a lighter....

I wonder if an oxy torch sparker would work well enough?

Should do. But when lighting with a lighter it's best not to use on full power, it won't blow the lighter out then

i should get a proper lighter not one of those panzie candle lighter ones
But it was to hand and often lives in the boot as well as a result

No lighter issues to worry about with mine pull trigger and go, that said used to use the same device Andy Monty posted up for years, with previous torches, plus you can spin the head round when you've used up the flint for another two.
