as said in a previous thread, i stupidly gone and bought a K&N induction kit... so thanks to a few members here they told me how bad they were and recommend i take it back.....
so decided to go back to halfords today and get a refund... but apparently they dont refund things they specificly order...

so iam now stuck with the damn thing.... and there is no point selling it anywere as i wouldn't even get half what i paid for it....

and another thing wrong is that it was not what i even expected.... my thought of a induction kit is there is a big pipe going from the air hole and the filter fits on the end at the front of the car, but this dont... the filter sits on top of the manifold and the pipe goes from the front end of the car and points to the filter without even touching it.....

anyway HALFORDS suck.!!!!!!!!:bang:

Re: F*****g Halfords

the thing is tho, i went in and asked for a refund.. the was a new guy there that went and got the manager...
after explaining why i want to return it, he said they wont refund items that have been specificly ordererd from there manufacture's...

Re: F*****g Halfords

thats because there is a surcharge,if you offer to pay that (normally 20%) they probably take it back otherwise they would be stuck with hundreds of parts that they cant return.

Re: F*****g Halfords

They can legally refuse to accept a return if it is not faulty, if they tell you, and it explicitly tells you on the receipt. They do this with some items like tomtom chargers.

If it doesn't mention this anywhere on the receipt, they don't have a leg to stand on, and you a legally allowed to return it, despite what they say.

Re: F*****g Halfords

As said It's against the law for them not to - Despite what their store policies say.

Take it to another halfords and tell them the item is not fit for purpose as it does not fit.

Tom

it does fit... but it appears he ordered it thinking it was something else. Should have researched into it imo :p

i know....:(

when i went into the store on friday, i had a look around, but the was no induction kits anywere... so i went asked if they had any, they said no but they will order one... so i agreed thinking it was going to be one of the ones withe the filter on the end.... if i knew it would be this stupid thing that sits on top of the manifold i would of said no.....

to late now!!!!

Re: F*****g Halfords

I know lol, he should say it doesn't fit - hence not fit for purpose and no matter what they say they have to refund you.

I'll get my law books in a minute lol :p

but it was specificly orderd for make and model... so it has to fit...:bang:

Re: F*****g Halfords

Um, you bought it, decided you didn't want it. Why would they want it back when you just changed your mind? I don't think this justifies the thread title.

no no no

i bought it... then found out how bad K&N ones are, then opened it a saw it was nothing like what i wanted...

:yeahthat:

If they had to order it in just for you, why should they lose money just because you now don't want it?

just get a pipe made up so you can mount the filter in grille or something.

Re: F*****g Halfords

They have a legal obligation to take it back ONLY IF YOU pay the restocking charge, which can be up to half the products value... why not find how much to send it back??

We had it with a customer at work, they bought some top quality ironmongery special order and then didnt want it... had to pay 250 quid restocking charge..
