Can anyone tell me if it's easy to replace the LCD screen on my Grande Punto 2008 1.3 diesel, a new instrument cluster costs more than the car is worth

A replacement cluster should be sub£50

To get mileage correct I believe you need a lower mile donor... as you can electronically correct the displayed miles UP .. but not down

Thanks Charle, I seen them advertised for £60+ p&p just didn't know if you can split the housing

Some other members (Dan8488, old-Boy racer, ktb) have replaced just the LCD - by taking one from a suitable donor cluster - I don't know whether you can source the LCD separately. Have a look at these threads -

The advantage of swapping just the LCD would be that it avoids the need to do a proxi alignment and adjust the mileage afterwards - which, as Charlie says, can only be done upwards.
