Please help, I have just put a new battery on my 2008 Punto 1.4 and the odometer/trip meter screen in the middle of speedometer and rev counter has gone blank. When I initially turn on the ignition a type of computer language writing comes on the screen but then goes off. The back light on the screen is still on but nothing else.
Any one had this issue?
Any help much appreciated?
Cheers
Dan

Tried disconnecting the battery several times and nothing. No when I press things on the menu i can hear the beeping but see nothing. The Bluetooth still connects but just a blank screen. I am wondering if I can just replace the LCD itself??

I would be first of all inclined to find someone with suitable diagnostic kit, e.g. MultiECUScan and check out the total lay of the land before doing anything else.

The odometer information will *also* be stored in the engine ECU, Airbag ECU and Service systems. Whilst they may not all agree you should be able to ascertain by going for a short drive that the mileages are increasing as one would expect.

Also by connecting to the instrument cluster you should be able to check for errors and also see if the cluster odometer value in memory is what you expect it to be and also increasing when you drive.

Thanks for all your input but I was correct, I have just replaced the LCD itself from a second hand cluster to mine. It turned out that the LCD had gone kaput!!!! Easy 2minutes job!!!!
Sorry S130, sometimes it's the basic thing that goes at fault rather than the technical things....... ?
