Hi Guys,

I recently came back from Germany (well traveled Europe alone in my MultiJet)

I have a 1.9mjet 130bhp (remapped but no documentation to prove this).

I was on the Autobahn doing an average of 120mph (reached 132) which is obviously more then the books say, anyway, I had my engine warning light appear after about 30 miles of continuous 115/120 speeds.

Prior to this I had travlled 3 hours to the channel tunnel, then from there to places like Brugge, Antwerp, Eindhoven, Ochtrup - around 850/900 miles was completed in this time (no issues), it was only until I had a 3hour journey to my Mums in the North of Germany where this issue happened (I was one hour from her place). **This was 6 days worth** not all in one day.

I had my car assessed at a local garage (mum's friends) and they replaced the sensor etc... at 100euro (same day no extra charge).

My issue is:

I am losing a lot of power (hit and miss) where it feels like a lot of air is escaping, I have been told I need to buy a new pipe (CIRCLED in RED) but I have read about other (cheaper alternatives) that I could use.

Can anyone advise me on this, I actually don't know the name for the pipe, I thought it was the EGR Pipe (I'm led to believe this is wrong).

Anyway, the attached photos show the part that the German Mechanic placed glue / silicone on (black silicone or something) as there was more engine oil coming from this area.

Thanks in advance, all help is appreciated.

Cheers, so you reckon this is causing the issues then, would a fluoro lined silicone hose work? Or would I need to get the same part and replace that way. Hate spending so much when alternative ways will work.

No you can't install a silicone hose.

As you can see in the attached scheme the part you want (number 4) is a plastic hose that bolts to the intake manifold so you can't just replace it with a silicone one.

Ah, I'm going to check out some scrap dealers to see if they have any in, easy to find normal grande puntos but not the 1.9 around my way.
If that fails, eBay. Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Wow I am fast realising I am a full on retard tonight haha!

Well I'll be getting some parts shortly, still need to eradicate the rear suspension squeak, I know something is broke, I have a new top strut mount (sure it's what was needed)

Much to learn and this forum helps a lot.

Hmm this ebay listing is ended right?

Btw which one sensor you replaced?

The mechanic mentioned the EGR sensor or something, he showed me it, a small black sensor and it was burnt out. I may be wrong on the name but it's a sensor.

Yeah, the listing has ended, it's good to see It's the correct part though.
