Hi,
I've been to see a 2009 GP , nice general order 17 K miles,
NO service history,
how many services should it have had..??,
my guess is 3 ! , 3 x annual oil-change services, and then the last should include fluids / air filter / pollen..??

also it's on 4 x Bridgestone tyres.. were these factory fit..??,
thanks,
Varesecrazy

You don't say which engine / model you are looking at?

Servicing on my t-jet is due every year or 18k miles, I'd guess most engines would be the same so sounds like 3 missed or missing.

Assuming car is being sold by trade, you could try contacting the former keeper to clarify service situation (address on v5). Also worth contacting supplying dealer (or one nearest former keepers address) to see if they have been maintaining it.

Sporting models came with bridgestone tyres as standard, not sure about other models. If you want to know how old they are look for the 4 figure manufacture date code. E.g. 3508 means they were made in the 35th week of 2008.

Contact the original dealer if you can. Had the same with my 2009 Abarth, had one stamp (free oil change) with 23k on the clock.
Phoned the dealer and they confirmed they had history for the car, sent them the book and it came back with 4 stamps.
The explanation given was a lot of people just forget to take the book with them for the service.
Worth a try.:yum:

My 07 t-jet had Bridgestones, two were still on the car when I bought it in 2011.

To the op, given car has such low mileage and doesn't have a turbo I wouldn't be put off but use it as a haggling point.

No service history = avoid, no matter how nice the car looks or how good it seems (unless of course you contact the dealer and there is a record of servicing).
Hi,
that's basically my thoughts,

The tyres question was just to try and verify the mileage,
didn't get to see ALL the parerwork ( MOT'S , etc),

It runs o.k.,
but feels a bit lumpy when cold so probably plugs need doing also..,
Cheers.

If it's 2009 then it might not have had an MOT, could have been traded in before it was due, doesn't need to have one to sit on a garage forecourt. no paperwork, could have been knicked, clocked, anything.

If it's the right money, then the fact that it's missed a service or two is of no great consequence. If the mileage is correct, then at 18,000 miles, it's only just run in.

Take into account though, that if the seller is asking top money for it, there are probably other top money cars out there with full service history.
