(G) Which key should I have?

Just a minor point but I am curious to know the answer,just picked up my brand new S2 Grande Punto 1.9 MJET Sporting and the key fob that came with it is the same as my old 56 plate series 1,at the same time my niece picked up her new GP 1.4 16 Valve and this has got the new key fob (same as the 500),does anyone know which one should of been supplied with my vehicle?

New one I would of thought. if its the 08/58 plate then yeah... very strange

I thought the 1.9 M-Jet was replaced by the 1.6 M-Jet in the series 2 GP

Not even an option on the Fiat website,it was on there at the end of last year but was taken off and replaced with the 1.9 again (this is Fiat you know!!)

oh really?..... i know its different but they have with the abarth....

to be honest.... BE HAPPY with the "squarer" key - its a LOT more sturdier than the new "rounded" key.

i have a58plate nd i have the black squarer key. I thought the rounded keys were an extra!

I rang Fiat uk today and they confirmed that it should have the new style key (there is even an amendment with the handbook showing how the new key fob works!), they told me to ring the dealer and they will supply the new style key fob for no cost. I know it seems a trivial matter but when you go from a series 1 to a series 2 you want to see all the differences,after all if it had the old style lights or wheels then we would probably all kick up a fuss.

im glad youve sed this, lol its now 00:31 12 feb 09 and im gonna go out in the -3 cold and get my hand book and check and if it is im gonna ring fiat uk and then ring my dealer. when i first picked my car up, i sed i wanted the new style key but they sed they aint all gone to the new key because it had only just come out, so i asked for a new key and they sed it would need the computers changing ?

You may only be goin outside for a few minutes i'm on a 12 hour night shift, to clarify a point Fiat uk deffo said it should of been supplied with a new fob especially because it had the supplement with the handbook.

what do you mean a supplement ? my book shows the old key in the book ?

ive just found it in my documents lmao
think a couple of fone calls are in order!!! lol
my local dealer hates me as it is lol
cos im a mechanic and when i find lil faults i want them fixing !!! lol and they dont like that
so now im gonna ring fiat uk
do you have the number by chance?
