My 500 boot handle worked intermittently and would only open manually once in every ten times I tried it, so today I decided to strip it down. I found that one of the 2 hinge pins of the handle lever had worked loose and fell out as soon as I opened it all up. I replaced the pin into its original position and connected the wiring to test it. Now works first time every time. A cheap and easy fix !.
