Dudes,

Can anyone dig me out a part number? ePer is infested by pirates again.

I'm trying to buy a second-hand driver's side wheel hub knuckle for my old beast #00431952 . I think the number is 50701140 but would like confirmation.

My osf wheel bearing has started droning like a Lancaster bomber which is quite cool in some ways... but the bearing seems to be in bad shape judging by the volume of it, so it's got to go.

I've got a new bearing somewhere... :D and I've ordered a new hub flange but it's a real gorilla-wrestle to fit a new bearing, so my plan is to remove my old knuckle, fit the "new" one (complete with its own bearing and flange) to teh car for now.. and then fit the new bearing and a new flange into my existing knuckle (now off the car) in slow time.

If my part number checks out as 50701140 (or whatever) can you also have a look what other Stilo/Bravo? might be the same? I can see a few 1.4 16v knuckles and the odd 1.6 but not many (i.e. expensive/in Germany) 1.9 JTD ones. From memory I thought the Stilo knuckles were nearly all the same, so a "1.4" one would fit. I've got my eye on one called "01 07 Stilo 1.4 16v" if that checks out the same as the 1.9JTD.

Ta.

Hmmm....

I believe a Bravo2 1.9 JTD might be the same part (suspension top mounts are also shared) so I've taken a punt on a cheapo seconda-mano one from 2007.

:D

According to ePER, 50701140 fits some Bravos with the 1.9 JTD engine, but not all of them.

50701140 should have 140 (last 3 digits of the part number) moulded into the casting.

Thanks for that... it's most splendid.

I think I can just about make out a "140" on photos that a couple of breakers have posted for knuckles from Stilo 1.6's, so at least I know where to go if the one I've ordered doesn't fit.

The one I bought is on the way now though, so I can't check it... but hopefully it's not one of those parts that fits one particular model/year of Bravo but doesn't fit the 50 others that use a different part.. :D

I had the thing apart last weekend to see if I could stuff some extra grease into the bearing to quieten it down a bit.. (no, you can't) so I know the hub nut and the various steering rod/arm/damper bolts will come undone without a fight.. Just the ABS sensor allen bolt disintegrated so that will need drilling out.. but hopefully the new knuckle will have a sensor and cable attached, so I can use that one and then sort out the nut on my existing one when I fit a new bearing/flange to it later.
