I brought home the wheel donor bike today.

Obviously, Tunturi spent money on the wheelset, because the rest of the bike leaves much to be desired.
Late to this..

I've a passing interest in bikes (2 wheel pedal cycles)
But Tunturi to me weren't even 2 wheel, they were found in a Gym..

Am I right.. Did they make "exercise bikes"..?

Well ‘we’ had our annual Christmas Tractor Run last night for charity…raised £15k last year…as there’s always a spread of old, and now small, classics from Ford, International and Case etc, and the behemoths of New Holland, Massey, Deere etc as well as fastrak, telehandlers, agribugs, all decked out in faerie lights and tinsel…they’re suggesting I take the little tank out next year, don’t think so, prefer to do the drinking rather than the driving

Their first ‘exercise’ bikes were road bikes with a ‘different’ front end, my auntie had one that she got second hand, it was billed as a ‘race trainer’ and not an exercise bike

Cool. There's a Christmas light parade in the subdivision north of me this evening. Mostly decorated cars and pickups but I somehow managed to plaster 60 feet of lights onto the Ural for the event. Last year it was well below freezing. We'll be lucky if it doesn't rain tonight.

My brother had a campagnolo bike, second hand, in the early eighties, it was as light as a feather with 15 gears. A real rarity at the time in the very working class area I grew up. Last time I saw him he was bemoaning the fact that the bikes worth £5k now!

I don’t really do chrimble, not just because I’m an atheist, a very lapsed catholic, but can’t be doing with the fakery and commercialism. Always up for a bit of fun for charity though!

Im under orders to stop being a grumpy old so and so and join in, so I am trying. Normally its sulking if the tree goes up before Christmas eve and isnt down on the twelth night, then downhill all the way from there. This year I am just going to enjoy it in case its my last! I can sulk when Im dead and gone. But I agree the commercialism. is very sad. And,it sounds like communism and thats bad. Ends in ism doesnt it.

Driving home from Mrs. Cheest's doctor appointment today, which went well btw, she exclaimed that she will NOT host Christmas for her family this year. I did a silent fist pull back and a "Yessss!" I don't dislike her family, I just like them farther away.

We don't host Christmas for my family because they are scattered all over the US. Her sisters are less than 90 minutes away. Mrs.Cheest and her youngest sister would switch off, while her middle sister always had an excuse not to host. The youngest and her other half decided that if the middle sister wouldn't host one, they weren't anymore either. Mrs.Cheest always looks for the best in people, especially her family, and always has excused her one sister. I was one that bitched about her sister, too, but it fell on deaf ears. I think the Big C has caused her to take off the rose colored glasses and really see her middle sister for who she is.

I also don't have to carve a turkey, now, either. :D

Im very glad the Docs visit was OK and hope it stays that way. You can have may be just a little turkey?
It can all get a bit much hosting big family 'dos'. We just have the kids back and the two daughters get stuck in to help which makes it possible for me to feel less guilty about being banned from the kitchen. Washing up duties only this year. Im cheaper than a dishwasher apparently. Cant afford to run one now unless the sun is out at full blast making solar power.

Give me a ham instead of turkey any day. Our oldest and her family come from Maine every other year for Christmas and we host everyone then. Our oldest has quite a fan club.
The Doc visit confirmed what we'd learned from all the testing and the MRI. She'll be having a lumpectomy early next followed by four to six weeks of radiation therapy. So, the Ta-Tas are staying put and she gets to pass on the Chemo. My Mom went through Chemo for lung cancer(never smoked)15 years ago and it was hell for her.

Aye its no fun, but worth giving a go at least once. I shall be keeping everything crossed for you both. Definitiely a good excuse for a bit of excess enjoyment this year!

This year, we're having a quiet time, just the two of us. Carer to get partner out of bed, then no more visits that day, wonderful.
Years ago, we would be busy, with my mother one day, then a visit to partner's mum the next. Then we alternated, my family one year at Christmas, the other at new year, the other way around the next year. Then one year we told both families that we were seeing the other. Had a quiet Christmas at home. Winner.
