I now have a picture in my head, of a bicycle on each side of the canal, being ridden by one person, with very long bandy legs. Hopefully a narrow canal.![]()

Temporarily had my hands on some of the new plastic £20 notes. More horrid that the £10 & £5, if that's possible. Only had them for about 10 minutes, not looking forward to more.
Then spent my last paper one a little later.
I’ve heard stories that some people are losing the twenty note out of pockets as they slide up and make their way out when walking.![]()
It is the plastic notes that do this. First reported after the introduction of the plastic £5. At that time I had one £5 note try to escape, caught it in time. When spending a large note, receiving smaller notes in change, I'd often just stuff them into a pocket, to transfer to the wallet later, but after that, always take the time to stow them properly. I've seen a few £5 notes on the ground too, presumably lost from pockets. Luckily, all have been in shops, so could hand them to a cashier, for them to make the difficult moral decision about whether to keep it, hold to see if anyone asks, or stuff it in a charity box.I’ve heard stories that some people are losing the twenty note out of pockets as they slide up and make their way out when walking.![]()
That sounds like a Daily Mail 'story'.
Sometimes I wonder though, why even carry cash these days?
I can't remember the last time I used an ATM, and until recently I had to cross the border to visit my nearest bank branch so that wasn't happening. Just pay with the card all the time.

Meccano was always my "thing", until I was given one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnWhfq-T9cE then I moved on to control line flying. I'd have loved one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9-weExLUA8. Then it was Motor bikes - still a passion - and then Cars.
PS not sure where the old horticultural machines fit into this timeline, they've always been an interest.
Nah, being "grumpy" is just a waste of time! I do sometimes feel p****d off but I always remember my mother quoting Ella Wilcox "Solitude" to me and she's absolutely right (look it up). So even if you're feeling very grumpy, look positive and put a smile on your face and, generally speaking, good things happen. Mrs J says that, if she outlives me, she's going to play Monty Pythons "Always look on the bright side" at my funeral.Oy.... you dont sound grumpy! Why not
Its JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!
GET GRUMPY NOW
Grumpy Pandas, oh no, definitely not!I like being grumpy! But have to control it. Dont want grumpy Pandas do we!
