Snap - unless it's particularly large, open and fast-moving, in which case third.

yeah same hear

I reamber when my step dad took me out with my L pates and saw me do that and was like what are you doing you need to go through the gears

he hates it :ROFLMAO:

So today I was at work right. I have a pretty good relationship with my manager - we're more like mates than employee/employer. Anyway so one of the things we tend to talk about a lot is religion. He's a non-denominational Christian (Christian bible but doesn't think of his family as Christian), and I'm a devout atheist. We long since gave up on trying to convince one another they're wrong (it used to be a favourite pass-time) and instead just debate religion in general.

While we were having a debate on religion on the shop floor a customer asked him for help and he moved away and I was approached by another customer, who, in the most condescending way she could, told me I was wrong to not believe in God and that I should not be debating such things because some people might get offended. She was lucky she was a customer or I would have torn her a proverbial new one. Firstly, she was being patronising, that is my number one pet hate since I am among the top 10 most intelligent people I know. Secondly, she tried to force her point of view without having even been involved in the conversation originally.

Now I'm not the most understanding person when it comes to these (here is where I get to the point) things but surely if me making counter-religion arguments is offence to those with faith, then her getting up in my grille and telling me that I'm wrong should be offensive to me, am I right? (That's rhetorical, doesn't matter what you say I'm right because that's how I see it.)

It's now six hours later and I'm still fuming.

Same - but my Dad just said "Where did you learn that ya crafty bugger? I didn't learn that until I was doing my heavy goods!!" lol

Basically she had a go at you for expressing an opinion, then tried to force her own upon you?

Yeah, I'd be pretty p*ssed at that too!!

i dont wanner offend anyone or anything but thats how it seems with people that are proper religous they dont care about your oppion they think there right and they think that is the only right way to think

if that makes sense i dunno lol

Yeah, it does make sense - to be fair though, most religious people I know don't try and ram religion down peoples throats. As such, I accept and respect their beliefs in the same way the accept and respect mine (I'd say I was more Agnostic than anything lol).

That's not to say I don't enjoy a good banter or debate about it lol (But when it gets to the whole "holier than thou" attitude I can get a little arsey and offensive lol)

nah i agree with you.

more often than not its the onces with a huge faith that are pushing thier opinions on other people, i mean ive never seen a guy stood next to a board in the town centre talking about how living without christ is the devine way.

take that flippin baldwin brother on big brother, its starting to get annoying how self rightious he is about his religion and how everyone else should be as into it is him :bang:

I have to agree that MOST religious people I know don't even bother you with it and as such I am quite comfortable with them. I can definitely see the place of religion in society - those people who don't have anything but their faith that their lord will provide - however I still think it's an outdated way to explain phenomena. Then again, the churches are so much more than that these days.

Come to London (actually don't).

There is a bloke that stands outside the station with a sign saying Jesus. (as if he is waiting for him like people do with cabs at airports)

Hare Krishna people are cool though(y) They sign for you and give you fruit and just generally make me happy when I see them lol.

There aren't any cool religious people over here. Our Prime minister is a bit of a religious man and he's implementing compulsory internet filtering - anything the government doesn't want goes on a black list. Not only are they going to turn us into a communist country, they're going to half our expected internet speeds :(
