What should i do to my bravo? Hyelp!

If you remember ive got a bravo 1.4s. Went on a run down to leeds from newcastle and averaged about 34 mpg. Ive got 17's but thats dire!
Want a 1.6 but i cant afford it so i'll have to accept the running cost. Is there any decent mod that you lads would get for a 1.4? Ive got decent ice and the car looks sweet enough for me, any ideas?

34 mpg from a 1.4 - did you freewheel most of the way or did you break down and get towed, c'mon admit it you didnt go over 56 mph all the way and took it out of gear going down hill didnt you

i have a 1.4S as well and yep the mpg is dire, mods i have done to mine so far are, induction kit, de badged, full ice install, 16's alloys, and interior sprayed colour coded and painted calipers/new pads, i have a lot of other plans for mine and it is in the very early stages, in about 4 weeks it will be a completly diffrent car


2 things i would recomend for you are colour coded bumpers, i paid £100 for a set of front and rear bumpers and i will get them sprayed for £45 so for that kind of money it is well worth it. the other thing is the piperX induction kit, ohh dear god it is worth it !!!! the noise is like nothing else, sounds so devine i love it, puts a smile on my face everytime i tap the pedal.

you like me must get infuriated by winding down the window !!! god how i would love electric windows ! there are universal kits out there for less then £70 which do the job, i will be getting one of these soon, just something else for u to consider.

The 1.6 would be lucky to get 38 on that sort of run. You have made it worse for yourself with 17" wheels and lots of ice. The rolling resistance of big wide tyres is alot higher.

i average about 35mpg in my 1.6 so that aint bad for a 1.4!

£45 for spraying! wheres that at? why is it that everyone else can get good quotes and i get double!

I wouldn't worry about it Nick. I have just been quoted 400 quid to paint and replace a front wing. Wife hit it with her Alfa - not a mark on the Alfa I get a two foot long dent!
