The wheels Jai has are 1980's Croma wheels in 14". The same style of wheels were also available with series 2 Strada Abarth 130TC's, though I've no idea if the offset is the same. Jai had them diamond cut and black powder coated and they are indeed absolutely gorgeous :yum:

As to your balance problem, have you had the tyres themselves checked? I had some wheels balanced last year and even though they balanced fine on the machine they were still vibrating and tracking badly on the road. Turned out that one of the tyres was deformed, so changing that sorted out the worst of the problem (y)

Never thought of that. it does pull too and i've had it tracked more times than i care to remember. the tyres all look fine. is it likely to be sidewall problem or just a duff tyre from the batch?

could it be worth swapping front and back see if that makes any differcne, or trying to find a working combination

Another good call from uno45 (you will have to stop doing it!!! its becoming boring..haha)
Had that happen to one of my tyres once...

If you switch to 14's you will need 185/50/14's to keep the speedo near to right, and they are not cheep. For a lot less you could get the right size tyres for your wheels, say 175/60 or 185/60.

The cinq wheels are often tricky on a panda as thier ofset puts the centre of the tread too far out for the suspension geometry and therefore make the steering slightly heavier and more prone to shimmies if anything (tyre, wheel, disc, driveshaft) is out of true.

Might be worth trying. Certainly the cheapest option.

But does sound like tracking the shaking. Had similar with the 750L for ages until finally sorted. Where if you really went for it you broke through the problem at the higher speed and the shaking stopped.

I got 165's at the moment, and they look far to wide, let alone 185's!

When you say they put the centre of the tread to far out, is that do with their low offset? I'll swap front and back tommorow and see if it makes any difference.

Yes, the low offset is the problem. I run 185's on Lancia rims with a different offset (with spacers) and they don't stick out.

You could always fit higher ratio 165's (Ivor runs them) or even standard 155's, all cheaper still(y)

Were all in a flippin awful state.

Errr - Absoloutly awful they were:

But all cleaner now. :D

And dad's been very nice and used some 'back to black' and blackened the Sisley for me :)

Spot the difference lol.

And the finished job;

You want to get him to put a bit of air in that tyre while he's at it ;)

Cheers,

Plug

Lol. Don't. Wouldn't have thought its a daily runner. Got a dodgy valve on it. Sometimes will last a few days, others only 24 hours . Would get it done, but only budget tyres, and getting new ones all round (hybrids) at the end of the month/May time ready for the plains, so easier to put compressor on it every morning rather than get fixed at the mo.

I had a go at swaping wheels. swapped them fron and rear on same side and went for a drive... felt very odd, quite hard and braking seemed sharper... maybe this is to do with almost new tyres. didnt shake as soon as it did, which i was happy about, but it pulled right so much! got on an A road and pinned it, got to bout 75/80 reading and she pulled right big time, then left, then right, swerving all over the road. fcking scary in a little car! slowed down and pottered home at 40. me thinks i'll go back to original 135 steelies whilst i save up enough money to afford to breath, sorry get them checked
