That floor is looking lush mate!! lol

Remember about the Sub-frame bolts that are welded to the shell inside the car......wet feet dont do them good. Damm passengers! lol

Have you kept any of the sound proofing crap?

yeah i took it all off, took me a while but today i was just sanding any bits that were still there (as u can see on the drivers side floor)
yeah i know what ur saying about those bolts lol

and yes, it is hevey!

Lookin minted Dunc, so what did you use to clean it off? Oh and why cant you get the inside welded a the same time, is it that much more?

to clean the rest of the crappy sound proofing i used fine sand paper. took ages but worth it!

its just the seam welding is holding me up alot, ive spend up on other uno goodies so cant get it done and i thought "get the bay seam welded for now as i dont wanna be taking the engine in and out, but the interior can come out well fast if need be! dont worry tho, it will all be seam welded eventually!

Sounds better now you've told me, as the car is going to be so sparse inside, it wont be much of a problem

Lookin forward to seeing the bay seam welded, i seam weld myself but love seeing others to it also. It should tighten the front end a little and protect the joins alot better from rust, am i right in thinking thats why you're having it done?

dunc... that takes some dedication to sand that lot down... I got bored when I just had to sand a small patch of rust off the arch of my car please tell me you had some power tools!

BTW Dunc, if i i had the time i would come down with the equipment and do it for you if you paid for my fuel , but unfortuantely i do not have a TIG welder at present to my annoyance

I can seam weld with a MIG but not many people 'seam' (sorry ) to like that idea, and i can make a job just as neat and strong as a TIG welder can!

I have pictures of it too.

theres always HSS and duncs deep pockets . could hire one out for a few days or something, that way could get all welding done at once!

well, i dont care which welder u use, if u wanna come down and do it matey i'm more than happy to pay! will have to be very soon tho as i need to get on with it! ahhh!!

anyway, today i carried on cleaning down all the rest of the floor, was a right ball ache but had to be done!

while my mate bruce struggled like a bitch to get the seat belf adjusters out! held in with lock tight which didnt help!

we the tackled the seam sealer gunk as it was looking well tatty!

out with the Kurust to touch up any areas that looked a bit dodgy (even tho theyre not exactly rust areas! lol)

here u can see the kurust in the edges of the sills

then out with the rattle can to spray the whole floor in primer (yes i know ive gone over what i did yesterday lol!)

we then started to spray the roof with its first coat of proper Fiat Mare Blue colour.

only managed to get half of it done tho, boo!

and last but not least, the kurust had dried so out came the anti rust primer (god knows why its bloody brown tho!). quick waft over the bulkhead in this and along all areas that have had kurust put on em!

this has taken all day! sorry if it doesnt look like ive done much lol!

that krust stuff.. do you just put it on, leave it to dry and then spray straight over or are you supposed to sand it off first like i was doing before spraying it? :bang: instructions on the backs are pretty crap.

I've always painted it on then primered/painted over it with no problems

oh one more, whats the best way to take off the soundproofing? mine seems pretty damn well stuck

Some heat should go a long way to helping

My uno should be undergoing some engine modifications once i get a new car now we have the space for some projects.

bushboy, as chaos said, just let it dry and then primer straight over it no probs.
to get the sound proofing off, just use a paint scraper matey, u'll find it just ships off. i didnt use any heat gun or anything.

i asked him, he said he wouldnt mind doing it. if u phone him u can sort it out.
glad ur still doing stuff 2 ur uno, in this weather i would of given up and left it til warmer times.
