They are only legal if you go down with your V5. Any that you can order off the net without showing them your V5 are illegal. Only badge you are allow on the plate is a UK one or EU one anything else again makes them illegal but whether you get done for them is another issue.

Depends on the copper tbh. Most will just give you a rectification notice but iirc they can give you £60 fine and 3 points. If you repeated get caught doing it then they can Q plate your car. Basically the same rules as when you have a private plate and mis space it.

Ive been pulled for illegal plates before and i just got a rectification notice for them. If you are running a different font then they will probably be a bit stricter on you as they think you have something to hide as ANPR cant read different fonts.

I got them from the same place as Beau so exactly same as these but clearly diff reg :p

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. When i said about the Box for my speakers i did mean the box that the speaker sits in. i jus wanted to know whether i could buy them... but seen as you say i could make them myself then i probably will do that :D
Another thing... could people please give me ideas for things to do to my car, ive not really got a spending limit but i don't want anything performance-wise on it yet, jus little bits i could do or buy to make it look good without going over the top. All ive done so far is put alloys on and put speakers on the parcel shelf. thanks guys, Dan.

Some pics with the plates fitted. Sorry they are ****. Came out of work and had a lit car park so thought ooh I'll take some pics - a few people were looking at me a bit weird though ha
More snow too :D

If you get done repeatedly for them you can.

well yeah but i think most people would take them off before it gets to several times cos other wise it will cost alot of money in fines! lol

and mine have been on for 5 months without any hastle, and southend sea front is a hot spot for police/traffic police/anpr cameras spot checks, when i had to go through a police check thing with vosa vans/dvla i was ****ting my self! lol but they let me straight through with hid's on too.

Am I missing something? Why would those plates cause extra attention from the police? I was unaware that there were restrictions on the font, as long as it's not something daft like wingdings or caligraphic italics.

Yes you are missing something. They are an illegal font. Only legal font is the one that comes on cars as standard.

Cheers Matt, I didn't know that (clearly) (y) . I suppose since I've never been interested in number plates, I've never consulted the legislation. In fact, the only thing I do know is that the separating gap should be twice the width of the standard letter spacing.
