Uno Uno turbo mk2 rebuild

Introduction

IMG_0550.JPG

IMG_0533.JPGJust thought I'd share my uno turbo rebuild with everyone
Complete strip down to the shell 6 months of welding & bodywork , full respray all over including underneath , engine bay and inside
I have spent £1000's on original parts from Italy
I decided to go with some 14" inch cromodora wheels . I found 3 brand new old stock wheels from Italy and another 2 used from eBay Germany , the new wheels were in good condition but had light storage scratches all over them , so got them all diamond cut refurbished . Then wrapped them up in Yokohama A539 tyres , all in all the 5 wheels ( one for a spare ) came in around £1500 ish . Gulp

Gearbox next : took it to a local gearbox specialist to get stripped down and checked - all was good inside but needed a full set of new bearings to be safe . Then was cleaned up sprayed with 3-4 coats of VHT aluminium then a couple of coats of VHT clear , mmmmmm

You sir, are insane - in the best possible way!;) I hope you are going to drive it often and not store it away afraid of it getting dirty (but wouldn't blame you if you do!).:)

Your attention to detail and obvious commitment to this project is highly respectable. I love what you've done so far and look forward to future updates and loads of pics. I will most certainly be keeping a close eye on this project.

Keep it up mate, very impressive.

Wow !!! what a build , the uno looks amazing [emoji1303]. Hope you get it to some shows next year , it will be a winner . Sourcing the original parts must be a nightmare as they are so rare these days , respect [emoji1307]

Yes parts are a nightmare but the postage from Italy is worse , they can sometimes charge €40 postage for a tiny part that's worth €20 , I have probably spent €100's on postage alone [emoji24]

What's more impressive is he seems to be doing all the work outside on his drive !!!
You could not do this where I live ,either to cold or to wet most days of the week.
