Nah you actually drove past me on the cock and bear bridge, I was on my bike with my friend.

Went on a street mission BMX style (as normal) :D.

The yellow cinq belongs to a friend of mine, it's apparently going turbo at some point :confused:.

Next time your in nuneaton you should give me a ring or text (y).

Hes cinq looked a little battered (does he want a yellow door?) he held up traffic while looking at my car in the carpark haha

Dont think I have your number but would of been good at the time. only two other people turned up for the meal (everyone forgot about it over christmas/newyear) was going to go to a pub but we didnt really know what was about and to cold to walk around. lol
 
Hi Craig, I do not want to hijack another thread ;) I am more and more interested in your setup. Q: are you still running the standard VAD exhaust manifold or did have something more proper done. Also, is your inlet still full of silicon pipes? I am trying to figure out where all my power losses are.

no worries.
yes im running the standard manifold with a turbo flange welded on.
not had any problems with it and never really thought of changing it (i cleaned up with inside castings quite a bit)
I dont think it is at all a restrictive point or bad setup. jason runs the same manifold with a big turbo and makes silly power.


yes im running all silicone pipes still.
might change in a few days or weeks as im waiting delivery of a air to water charge cooler to replace the intercooler.

are you loosing power or struggling to make more?
 
Don't think I've ever seen a charge cooler on a Cento, where are you going to mount it and what are you using for a cooling rad?

I run a PWR charge cooler on my MX-5 and am actually using a Sei MPI radiator for cooling

If you are looking for a water pump the Bosch units from Omega's and some Audi's are ideal

Well, I am not really loosing power, the car in insanely quick. But I noticed from my dyno logs that soon after the turbo reaches the max boost (exact 0.8bar) it manages to hold it for only few hundreds RPMs, then drops down to 0.75-0.78. You may say it is negligible, but if you look at the boost curve it is considereably downhill and the torque curve reflects this. So I am just wondering if it is a poor turbo or poor something else. Soon I will do some tests with a bigger throttle cap (Palio), just need to wait for my brand new 60 degress silicone bend (yes!, they finally make them) for the inlet tubing.

Its coming with a pump and header tank... im going to use another cento rad on the other side of the car (i did some research before buying and it was funny to see that most people use cento rads for the charge cooler)
I hope to mount the cooler above the gearbox. or maybe even bolt it to the engine where the coilpacks are. should be able to make to boost pipe run much shorter to.

only reason im doing it is because my intercooler has so much wild life in it that it looks like a insect collectors bedroom wall :(

that sounds just like my car with the GT15.
boost came in quick and hard but a few moments later it felt like someone had put threw a anchor out the back of the car (n)

keep me updated on the palio bob. :)

The welded up stock mani is certainly not the best set up. You'll loose something, but more a problem is that you can't really weld mild steel to cast iron, put it through repeated heat cycles and expect it not to crack. I've seen cracks in them......................

Yep, mine needed re-welding after I owned it.

I agree with you Craig that it is not worth spending dyno money before certain things are finished, I was also delaying my dyno-session, but then it terribly helped me in getting my maps right and there is this certain feeling when you get the dyno printout in your hands I cannot describe ;)
