You parked illegally and got a ticket, why in the world would you have any way to complain Trance?

At my gfs I usually park infront of her house as it's not a residents only bay, however, often it is full so I don't take it on myself to break the law and park illegally elsewhere (say on double yellows) just because of that, I park 3 minutes walk away.

Just because you can't do what you normally do doesn't give you allowance to break the law!

And the name is ironic....

Why would I have reason to complain? because Legally I have a place to park for free and it was obstructed by the same people who issued me a ticket. Why would I have reason to complain, pllleeaase!

That would be like Traffic warden blocking your exit from the supermarket so that another warden could ticket you.

There is nowhere around here where I can park for free because you have to pay for everywhere and at the time I finished work that night (0200 sunday night/monday morning) everyone was nicely tucked up in bed and so were their cars and there was no free bays.

And there can only be niceness and peace with nice people and if bad people keep bringing stress and anger then we must burn their mopeds!

Strictly speaking, having a note doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
Yes you're right, but having a bit of discretion when seeing the BIG hole next to the car and where he was standing would have been nice.

Oh really? The warden ticketed you after digging the hole, super efficienct council. If you mean something else however, firstly I bet it wasn't the council that dug it up. People have to have the end of their drive dug up for various reasons, be it gas/water/telecommunications etc. and everybody manages, except you it seems.

No, it wouldn't.

Not if you were parked illegally and causing an obstruction, that is why they have the job they have.

You know what the council said I should have done?

Paid to park then, write a letter for re-imbursment (sp) Can you even purchase a ticket at 0200 in the morning? I don't know I've never tried.

In anycase I was not in a bay as there was no bays available, I was on a single Yellow

Fair enough you do not know my area, but the single yellow obstructs nothing. The excuse Ive heard from the council is that it for Fire Access to my Block however you are allowed to park there for free on Weekends and after 1830 which means there can never be a fire at these times.

I would have been raging if I had gotten a ticket in those circumsances :(

Surely a note AND some common sense from the warden should have prevailed, but alas not (n)

I thought it was illegal to block someones driveway denying them access (not to exit but only entering premises) as you can call police to remove obstruction(wether that means car or other?) to your driveway.Would of thought the ticket could of been 'ripped up' (not by warden only doing his/her job & didn't know car was yours) as seems unfair.

I do my shopping in town on a sunday(free parking) & food shopping out of hours(late evenings)less people about, other times I use the motorbike...free parking in bike bays...assuming some idiot isn't parking right across the bay!

I once parked about a foot onto a double yellow because the space was too tight, while a TW was watching. I got out and asked him if it was OK to park like that, he said,
"yes I can see you have attemted to park within the space so that's fine"

I spose you win some you lose some, but I have used that same method numerous times, because of what he said to me, and have never had a ticket

Bad luck mate ;)

Got ticketed in Weston Super Mare once in the Serena for not paying and displaying on the seafront... saw the shortsighted official who did it  he looked at either end of the bottom of the front windscreen round the wipers and guess where the pay and display ticket was  yes at the top of the very same front windscreen. Keep my cool spoke to the official and was handed a form and told to post P&D ticket and Parking Ticket with letter of appeal to the council... got it quashed (y)

i can understand the reasons behind issuing a ticket for a parking infringements (sometimes you chance it and it doesn't work)

but what i cannot understand is why they have to clamp/tow-away your car because you havn't put 50p in the blo**y machine!!

£30 fine i accept. £100 release clamp fee or £150+ tow fees are just criminal, especially when they cause obstruction to remove your car(THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT MUST BE DESTROYED!!)

and breathe:cry:

£150 to get your car unclamped/tow fees:eek: Is that for real?

Could of got 3 hours diag time at dealer for that;)

"welcome to the london borough of waltham forest. we welcome careful drivers as long as you don't dare stop in our crummy borough and think that by putting "forest" in our name makes us sound all countryfied when in actual fact it's a innercity concete sh*thole"

the towaway fee doesn't include daily storage charges either

ahhhh to own a car in london

Ahh near Leytonstone/Hackney....one of my old stompin grounds;)

Personally couldnt be bothered with all that stress driving/parking in London etc...dont know how people do it day in day out.I get annoyed if theres more than 3 cars(or sheep)at traffic lights up here:D

So long as the ****wits who employ traffic wardens keep giving them ticket quotas to fulfil, this kind of petty crap will continue to happen. Most wardens would let you off with minor things if it wasn't for the tosspot of a manager on their back demanding x number of tickets per week. There was a big scandal about it in the papers a while ago, but of course nothing was done about it...

And don't get me started on clampers... :tosser:

luckily in scotland clamping is illegal :D and to be fair the tow away in the city is generally for illegal parking and not for say not paying in a parking place.

as for towaway charges a amate got towed about 7 years ago and it was £110 charge plus £7 a day storage so i bet its around the £150 mark now.nice little earner in a city where there traffic'management' system has slashed the nuber of parking spaces in the city centre

They are actually conspiring to get us to use public transport  by making motoring ever more difficult & expensive... however, never seem to invest in infrastructure to make the alternatives viable :bang:

here in edinburgh they want to bring in congestion charging to pay for a new tram system(they ripped the old one out for the better busses in the 70's!)

so by that argument they want people to use there car to pay for the trams,so its a tax not to discourage motorists?
