Exactly, so this following a TT up to 120 is a joke, so is 0-60 in 9secs without either a turbo or 1242 extra; a K&N will not knock of 4 seconds :D

but who ever said this guy in the TT was booting it? I'm sure we all know that a Cinq Sporting can't beat anything more than a 1.2 in a drag race but not everyone races like they have something to prove

Right - Paul, you ain't from round here boi. This is the Cinqs & Seis section, you'd better watch yourself! :p

TT - yep, he might have kept up with it, but as was said who can tell how hard the driver was pushing. On a race, any TT is gonna wee over any cento.

I've been in a 4 car cento convoy downhill, I registered them all at 117 mph. My speedo isn't accurate though, we were maybe doing 105 - 107 I'd say. I do know the speedo reads 5mph high at 90.

Have had my silver one to an indicated 120 mph down a big hill. Got a photo somewhere, and before you ask I'm 34 so don't understand how Photoshop works.

The black one hit the rev limiter in 5th the other week down an equally big hill, the speedo was so far off the top it hit the dial surround underneath. If you calculate the speed from engine revs, divide it all down through the gearing and work out the tyre circumference, it's only just shy of 130mph.

I'm no bull****ter, I can't see the point in exaggerating stuff, but if you read between the lines on this thread what people are saying is they are damn surprised at how well a 1.1 (or 1.2 or 1.2 turbo) cinq/sei will go if let off the leash. They ain't gonna beat a proper quick car, but you can surprise a lot of people.

Got a bit carried away there and missed one of the original questions.

1242 non turbo - 17.8 secs 1/4 mile
1242 with turbo - 16.7 secs 1/4 mile
Bog standard cinq sporting - 20 secs 1/4 mile

Standard Cinq Sporting - 13.8 secs 0-60
My silver one (speedo against a hand held stopwatch, not a terribly accurate measure) 8.8 secs 0-60
Black one - never really measured the 0-60 but a fair bit quicker.

I am not doubting that your 1242 or turbo 1.1 can't go well, I wouldn't dare!! - I also trust what you say Pete! However, what I AM saying is that no sporting can do 0-60 in 9 seconds (or "just over" unless just is 5 seconds ;) ) and nor can one keep up with a TT unless the TT driver was just driving normally and the sporting trying hard - at which point quoting "keeping up" becomes meaningless.

I don't think you argue against the above.

Ah i mis-wrote the above, I meant "any 1.1 sporting" - obviously yours can, I just took it for granted I meant a fairly standard sporting :)

that reading of 13.8 0-60 is a car with a full tank, 2 passangers and luggage.. this is how the manufacturers record 0-60 times.. my car had only a tiny bit of petrol, no rear seats, no spare wheel, and im only a wee lad.. u dont have 2 believe me!!! wen i say just over 9, it was about 9.5, but i think just over 9 sounds good :D

Well that's more than I have ever been told, i.e. half a tank of petrol and no luggage, why would they bother otherwise? Anyway, as small a man as you are and without your spare, you can't beat that time by 4-5 seconds!

i think ill just say it was 0-60 in like 16 sec then maybe ppl will believe me, im not arguin with anyone...

hahaha i fed it optimax and some nitrox.... thats the reason for the 0-60 time :p
