Spose I ought to make a comment lol!
When I picked up Stu's car and drove it over distance for the first time, I was releived, almost amazed as well, to get out of it. It was one of the worst' cars I have ever driven.
We put the Eibach kit on, expensive but to be honest they are so well suited to Italian cars, its just not worth scrimping on a few pennies. They are a bit trick to fit on the front end but Glenn sorted it out. The rears went on without any bother.
The CDA was an absolute bugger as usual - not so much the fitting, just getting all the old stuff out the way. We fitted it with the intake outside the enigne bay, but as Stu said I did suggest we cut a section out of the front blind grill, mesh it and mount the intake there as it would be even better. Mind you, anything is better than where most people mount the intakes that I have seen lol!
Anyway, on the road. Handling was better, but not brilliant. When we took the wheels off it was apparent that something was amiss so we checked everything over carefully and couldnt find anything amiss, so I took it to my mate Alan at Southam Tyres and got him to do a full laser alignment check. This guy is superb, he even sorted my Jag XJRS 6.0 out for me from the engineering diagrams - top bloke! The alignment was well out, so he adjusted it al up and WOWOWOWOW it goes round corners - and is a JOY to drive!
With the remap the car comes on strong at 4,000 rpm, but the addition of the CDA is amazing. There is a real push intot he back of the seat at 4,200 rpm and car takes off. The only thing we have like this is the 2.0 Alfa with the C&B Cams and chip.
Upshot is, Stu's car is now great fun and I will have to admit to being reluctant to give it back lol! Glenn and myself thought about doing a cut and shut and taking the rear two doors off, but Stu might have noticed lol! Only joking mate!
Good car transformed into a great car.
