The Bismarck - warning: not a Fiat

Introduction

Here we go (just for Liam), the Bismarck mk II, a fine piece of German engineering. BMW 330d sport 2004 (manual gearbox), lots of horses, lots of torque (and to think I used to be scared of hills, now they're scared of me ;)), fab handling for a big car (far stiffer than the Brava), very comfortable and elegant, lots of gizmos and gadgets :D It scares me a bit, especially the fact it's so smooth and relaxed, especially at high speeds. And I'm not sure I love it, though it's certainly nice! As for mods, well most of it's done but I would like to upgrade the headlamps, a remap and possibly a retrim but that's it.

The day I went to look at it (missing centre cap replaced)

What passes for a spoiler on a BMW

Back end - please note parking sensors which are handy since I can't see where the car ends

Beeeeeeeeeeeg wheels

Interior - wanted all Alcantara as I don't much like leather and finding a black leather interior (which was second choice) is about as hard again, so had to settle for half Alcantara so there's a retrim in the offing!

very nice helz, liam and i have similar tastes ;)
although wait till he see's THAT colour :yuck:

Thanks :) On the topic of colour, do you know how many of these cars I chased across the UK? :bang: This was by no means the first I got in touch about and it's cheap for the age, mileage and spec. OK not many extras but it has enough already *shrugs*

i don't get it you spent all that money getting the brava made non invisible, then you buy new car invisible
Didn't work Dave, it was still invisible

Oooooh and I got let out of a junction the other day (y)

For me the photo of the Brava and the Beemer side by side says it all, it's several steps up the automotive ladder. Congrats Helz and all the very best with it. :) It's a pity you didn't go for an Alfa though. ;)

There a fair few £K and a few years between them though :p

Should be used to not knowing where the boot ends.. I can't see a thing of where the brava boot ends.

Watch out for rusty doors and bonnets  :D

My mates 328ci is rusting away on a 2000 reg

So now you have an excuse to hog the outside lane on the motoway :p :D

Being a Fiat owner, bodywork was the first thing I checked out of habit :bang:

Rob, for the last year I've had a massive great big spoiler to show me where my boot ends, kinda handy for some things was that (y)

Lovely car Helena.
Iam thinking on the same lines, either a 330d or 530d to replace the Passat 4motion guzzler. Now you know what its like to own a great car. Hard to fault they are!! Well done you.!!

Andy.:)

Unless it has been accident damaged or very poorly looked after then i wouldnt expect to see a bmw 2000 reg 'rusting away' as they are galvanised

Loving it! but not the colour sadly.

betcha it has very good brakes?

Gotta change your whole driving style now and it will make the Brava seem almost sedantry by comparison!

Yes it has good brakes, I've tested them once or twice  To be honest it's not that much more fun because it's so smooth, you don't feel anything! I chased after a couple of black ones with a few more options but manuals are hard to come by and just fly off the forecourts, plus I'm on a budget so I had to settle for this one :)

Can't believe you're going from a Brava to a 330i  somebody got a payrise :p Nice beemer anyway (y)
Well why not ;) No payrise unfortunately, I'm just too impatient to wait to do a project so bought something ready-done
i love it. shame about the badge but apart from that its a superb machine. :D
Thanks (y) I've said before that is Fiat made a car like this, I'd buy it. But they don't and I can't afford an Alfa 159 :(
