Hi Guy/Gals,

I hope you don't me posting on here but I thought I'd draw to your attention the chip tuning that is available for the Fiat range - I'm afraid it's almost all exclusively for the oil burners (sorry to the petrol heads out there). But the increase really is excellant, enough to match and beat many of the so called 'fast' petrols out there, with increased economy also.
For more info just look at the website below - if you want the full datasheet just fill in the 'contact' form.
I only found this forum recently and admittedly I haven't upgraded a lot of Fiats personally - as yet, but the Stilo 115JTD I did recently left me with white knuckles when I accompanied the owner on the test drive !!!

I've been doing some research for chips for us "petrol heads". Poweralfa say they are developing some new products especially for the Stilo and I've emailed them to find out if one of them may be a chip. Superchips don't do anything for petrol stilos either but I have emailed them with an enquiry too. I will post any replies I get.

Superchips have said they have no plans to do a chip for the Stilo Abarth. Gutted! ;)

My mate has just ordered a "chip" for his Abarth. Get this. The chip is fully covered by the Fiat Warranty is fully FIAT Approved. Fiat even offered to fit it for him.

Yeah, Yeah, give us more info if you have it!!!!!!

Oh and hello, I'm mick. Just joined the site really interested in the comments I have seen over the past couple of days.

Cheers

So can we get chips for the petrols or not?

If anyone's got any details please post them.

Clearly lots of people out there want the get the most out of their Stilo Engine!!!!!!

I can actually now offer a chip upgrade for the petrol engine. The gains as you are probably aware are not as enormous as for the turbo d's, the Abarth for instance will see an increase of 12bhp. Also the throttle response should be improved.

Simon, what sort of cost are we looking for for the Abarth to chip it with you?

How about a chip for the 1.8 petrol? Is there a downside? Will it afect the warranty, and can it be taken out again by the owner?
If I had it chipped (it's standard at the mo) and then at a later date added a K&N and exhaust, would it need re-chipping to account for the mods?

Yep come on simon give us a price for the chip upgrade there will be plenty of interested abarth owners out there so don't take the p*ss. very interested......Psycho.

can you chip-tune the 1.2 engine also?
And if it can happen, is it necessery that you do the job? CAn you for example send the chip over to ...lets say Greece for example...:)D) and have someone install it?

pantjo, look at www.power-tuning.gr
I wrote to them and they replied that they give +14HP & +21Nm in 1.6 Stilo.

Than means
BEFORE: 102HP/5750rpm and 145Nm/4200rpm
AFTER: 116HP/5550rpm and 166Nm/3650rpm

It costs about 750 euros and they need the car about two days.

They are in Thessaloniki, Greece.

I don't know yet what I'm going to do. We 'll see [?]

Is the tunning causing a small damage to the engine, thus limiting it's lifetime?
The guys at power-tuning "Mixalis" seem very expert and have done a long time in the tunning section. The numbers giving about HP and Nm seem very nice and i'm already thinking to put the car in a boat and come to mother Greece for a chip-tunning :D.

hmmmm.......750 euros? plus about 200 more for going there, staying acouple of days and coming back....hmmmm....sums up to more or less 1000 euros.....hmmmm!!

I think I should have bought the 1,6 in the first place!:)
15 extra HP sounds good to me but though!
I may combine it with a buiseness trip or something.

In any case, Michali, welcome to the forum. [8D]

Hi Tricky,

I'm not familiar with the CCCTech chip however it is possible to get similar results by getting your ECU remapped. Angel Tuning (http://www.angeltuning.co.uk) offer this service and deal predominantly with Fiat/Alfa Romeo vehicles. As for the warranty position, Angel Tuning quote the following on their website:

How will it affect my warranty?
There is no change needed to any hardware for engine remapping. Therefore there should be no affect on your warranty.

If you are considering an ECU remap, you might want to look at joining Club Stilo first as we have negotiated a special members discount with Angel Tuning which will save you around 20% so it would be well worth the £10 membership fee.

If you would like more information about joining Club Stilo then please get in touch or alternatively check out our website (http://www.clubstilo.com).

Its the same thing. Chip Tuning is what its called in Europe, ECU Remap seems to be a UK term. "Chipping" is the thing to avoid if possible in the 21st C.
