I would just buy a

MaxiScan MS300 OBD2 EOBD II CAN BUS Code Reader Engine Diagnostic Scanner Tool

from Amazon or Ebay, no better tool to spend less than £15 on delivered. Huge help with these sorts of problems and pays for itself in no time. I'm not a seller of such things.

This thread is over 2 years old, I suspect this problem has also been fixed by now.

Please do not spam the forum with referrals for MaxiScan, whether you are a seller of it, or not.
