surprised you didn't clean up and paint the shocks after all that effort, or you getting news ones at some point..?

getting new one as those ones are shot totally even the adjusters are seized up solid but they have done 3 years hard service:D
just want to get the car back on its wheels so i can get the front end ripped to bits and get the engine and box out and start getting everything cleaned up and battery moved etc etc:devil:

if i was you id flip those springs around, i think there is a reason but i carnt remember, and crap can build up between the tighter coils if there at the bottom

this is why i asked previously as to which way round was the correct way as ive seen them both ways round and i dont really get crap build up round them anyway as it gets washed every week and everything underneath gets blasted as well(y)
too much crap on the roads in london cars seem to get extremely dirty:cry:
the tight coils are at the bottom on my other cinq as well!!!!

yes i have spoken to a very good freind who works for superchips and remaps chips all day and he reckons he can do it easily so ive given him the challenge see if he is as good as he reckons....doesnt bother me if he cant as its free:D
cheers for the comment about the rear beam would like to of got it finished today but no such luck!!!!

Howdy mate, could i also buy one of them chips once it works please!!!!???

Thanks
Ming

Hi there I'm hoping to build a Sei with the 1.4 engine someday :)

In regards the manifold and looms, you got a manifold for a mk2 Punto 16v. These are fly by wire and wont accept the Marea 1.6 tb.

The loom wont fit as the injector plug is wrong, theres extra sensors on this manifold and the plug for the tb is totally wrong which wont fit anyway...

You need a manifold from a 99 Bravo 1.2 or mk 1 Punto 85 as these are the split manifold some others have mentioned before. Important to use also is the mk 1 Punto loom and injector rail as its a return system as opposed to the Bravo 1.2 which is returnless and uses a totally different loom again...

Hope the project goes well! (y)

well i have a brava 1.6 16v tb and that fits straight onto the mk2 sporting manifold and is the same set up/connections as are on the my cinq already and the inlet has already been used by dan so it will work just needs a couple of plugs and a bit of rewiring which is no great deal and there are no extra sensors compared to what is on the cinq already just different connection plugs....:p

By comparing to the cinq, you do mean the punto mk1 sportign loom yeah ?

But isn't the mk1 inlet a better design compare to mk2 ?

Ming

yes the mk1 inlet is a better design as it can be port matched to the head where as the mk2 cant be but i spent a year trying to find a mk1 sporting inlet and people just want stupid money for them so a mk2 inlet at 99p is quite acceptable and if a mk1 comes round at sensible money then ill change:D
i think everybody is becoming greedy as the government is screwing us all for our hard earned money and we have to replace it somehow:mad:
i was on about the connections on the brava tb they have the same pin connections as the cinq for tps etc:D

A port matched mk1 inlet is a good start, but the upper section is still as restrictive. I found the 1.4 stilo inlet has alot better flow and the ports on the head needed opening alot more to match the inlet. As for not having a return, it makes no difference as you just fit a Fuel pressure regulator. Problem solved.

Making some quick progress. (y) Have you checked the tank thoroughly while underneath as mine looked fine until i actually removed it. Might be a good idea to look into tank from the cover as rust spots will show up well.

yes had the tank out and checked it totally not a single leak or any rust spots been covered in sone protective stuff from new...
as im pretty much following urs and another conversion i will be using fpr to solve the problem of no return...think the other chap who made the comments has done that much reading up on the other threads..:p
yes its going at a reasonable pace and i have just got the other brake drum backing plate so that will be getting cleaned and painted up tomorrow then im hoping the rain dont return and i can get the rear finished off this weekend:worship:

well the weather started of sunny and now its throwing the wet stuff down again but managed to get a couple of hours on it and have now finally finished the back end off:D and have now started ripping engine and box out ready to get the 1.4 16v and 6 speed box in......but as can be seen before that happens there will be plenty of cleaning work to be done in the engine bay...hoping to get in from work tomorrow night and get the engine/box out all thats left holding it in are the mounts:slayer:
