does the Punto ECU fit on the cinq loom ECU plug? Might be cheaper to just rewire that then?
yes it does plug straight into the punto ecu so i think a bit of rewiring will be in order(y)
pic of the only 3 sensors on the inlet and there are 2 sensors on the 1.6 16v tb same as cinq sporting ones

Picture 1 is the combined MAP / IAT sensor - same as the mk1
Picture 2 is the fuel evap system purge solenoid - not sure on it as it's a system i binned
Picture 3 is the CTS - same as the mk1.

I think all you're going to need is a plug that'll fit the MAP/IAT and then do some rewiring. Ah, you'll probably need some wiring to connect to the injector loom.

Wonder if anyone has butchered loom that they can cut these connectors off and send you? When doing my conversion I had a Stilo loom that I killed to death for parts.

What are your plans with regards to the TDC / alternator belt 'issues' ?

If it's of any use I have a full sei MPI loom going spare. Would make everything a bit easier judging by arc's reply.

I couldn't get to the manifold, engine hoist and pirus' engine was in the way.

Thanks

X

i thought i should be using the punto sporting mk1 loom or has this got the connectors i need on it?

still bloody raining here dont think im going to get much done today:mad: will have to wait till wednesday on my day off or if the evenings are nice enough and im aint too knackered then get some more done.
todger i have pmd u about the loom(y)

Rear beam and arms look tidy (y)

The 1.2 16v ECU will run the 1.4 16v with a remap, then? Pretty much the same as each other except the stroke/bore/both?

yes i have spoken to a very good freind who works for superchips and remaps chips all day and he reckons he can do it easily so ive given him the challenge see if he is as good as he reckons....doesnt bother me if he cant as its free:D
cheers for the comment about the rear beam would like to of got it finished today but no such luck!!!!

well at 5.30am i was out getting the brake drum backing plate on and wheel cylinder in place and guess what the bloody rain starts again.
anyway taking the rear springs and drums into work and get them done ready to go back on later on rain permitting....weather looking better tomorrow:yum:

well got the drums painted at work today and once home i got the rear passenger side brakes built up and all the brake lines connected up just waiting on drivers side drum backing plate to arrive which should be friday/saturday.....
tomorrow the new handbrake will be connected up to passenger side and then i can complete the rear on sunday apart from getting a new pair of shox....my ones have died:cry:
im a bit confused as to which way the rear springs should be seated???? do the coils that are close together go at the top or the bottom???? i have seen todgers pics with them at the top and someone elses car with them at the bottom....can someone plz tell me the correct way round???:worship:
