Styling Show us your Wheels!!

back to topic ...

I'm not showing my wheels until I've washed them! but then it would also depend on the time of year as I have the turbine alloys on for the majority of the year and a set of steelies for our [mild] winter.

Then again, I really should post a picture of my car in the bs that need a bit of love topic [well "need some money spent on a new roof" topic]

Oh dear - here we go again.........................:bang: the colour to have is not wee-wee yellow, its not petrol smoke blue, its not English channel green, its not rusty brown and its not shiny smoke - not sure how many more times I am going to have to say this............

Rosso Corsa

..........is the best colour for a B!!!!!! :bang:

Sorry for the previous post - I could not stop myself..............

Back to topic.............really happy with my new set of wheels but they take longer than the rest of the car to clean!!!

Once again for your viewing pleasure here they are...................

After the Great Computer Crash of July 07 where virtually every image I had was wiped out, I only have two or three pics of my B & unfortunately it's currently mothballed in a barn somewhere in the outskirts of Reading, so I can't pop out & snap a few shots of the wheels. However, I think they look nice, even if it is a while since I've seen them! From memory, they're OZ's & I think they're 16".

FLASH - I live in Binfield (couple of miles from Reading) - let me know where it is and I will go and check up on her for you!!! (and if your wheels are any good I will nick 'em ;))

LRB that's very kind of you to make such a selfless offer. The address is Fdi%$3"$%^ Farm. L%6*(|"1&@ !@?/6^*(, Near Reading.

(Damn, seems my keyboard has suddenly developed an intermittent fault!) ;)

Offers there - and I would not pinch your wheels - I only bought mine a couple of weeks ago!!

Thanks for the offer. The B is tucked up in a nice cozy barn on a farm & has a Triumph TR5, Mk1 Escort Mexico, Alfa Guillia, a couple of old Minis, a Herald, series 1 Land Rover & various motorbikes to keep it company! I'm actually hoping to get down there in the next couple of weeks to make a start on getting back on the road. Just need to sort out a new downpipe!

Pictures, pictures!!
To think that the Escort is probably the most valuable:eek:
I used to live in Zambia when I was a whippersnapper and we had a Yellow escort (so that's why I like yellow cars!!), basic model.......very basic model, no heater (obviously!!), no carpets just plastic mats, black plastic seats.....I still have the scorch marks:eek:

One of my better deals..............years ago, bought a Mk 2 popular with a dinged wing for £80, fitted a second hand wing sprayed with a can and sold it for £600.............ah, those were the days

Due to the aforementioned Great Computer Crash of July 07 I thought I had lost all my photos of car related stuff! However, a quick look through an old disk has located a few pics of the barn from a couple of years ago.

As you can see, the Escort isn't exactly road worthy & is in pretty much the same condition now as it was then. Saying that, the condition is actually very good & would take very little to get it back on the road; all the parts are there & would be a relatively easy job. The double decker Midget is actually the second car I ever bought back in 1987 with a new Heritage shell on top of it. Realising that I wasn't ever going to get around to doing it, I put it on eBay & is now in a new home in Belgium. The Land Rover was a raffle prize (really!) & hasn't moved! I've just passed it on to a friend (the one who owns the Mexico) & he says he's going to get it on the road! Better than I've done in the last 10 years!!! The rolling chassis is now a very nice dark blue TR5 & my B has taken it's place in that corner of the barn!

Still not found any other pics of Boo the Barchetta unfortunately. When I go down there next I'll take the camera. The contents of the barn are constantly changing & is a continuous source of fascination.

nice landy series I or II?

It's a Series 1 80", from 1950. I won it in a raffle at the Bristol Classic Car Show in about 1989! I used it as my daily car for a few years before an engine problem took it off the road. It served me well & has the dubious honour of writing off a brand new Pug 205 GTi in 1991. Damage to the Landy? A scratched & slightly buckled front bumper! Land Rovers have to be one of my motoring weaknesses. I've had a good few of them, not counting the dozen or so that I had as company cars when I worked for them!

The hoover isn't SS's, but if he wants to come over & vacuum all the rat poo from the corners of the workshop, he's more than welcome!!!

I love 'drovers, I had a S11 lightweight when I was much younger for a couple of months in the summer - most excellent fun as you could take off the doors, windows, roof etc etc etc - funny enough girls liked it on a hot day until they got a face full of flies (the winged sort)!!!

I always fancied shoe-horning a V8 under the bonnet but decided to get shot of it when a friend offered me £200 more than I paid for it - if I remember correctly I bought a 1972 Rover 2200TC as a replacement.............ah, happy days!!

Are 17" rims biggest that you can have on b?
I havent seen any 18" or bigger on b so I was just wondering..
