All the pumps out here in Taiwan are attendant served - and yes, sometimes people will pull up and ask for 50p worth of fuel ...

I haven't seen them, nor would I trust them.
Was the same when I lived in Qatar, I saw someone fill his own car ONCE, and all his mates found it hilarious.
50p-£1 is an average fill up too
