Nope never ran out, i'm too paranoid to let that happen.

Although I might have to take my word back as the car is on empty says its got 3 miles to go before tank runs out and its that far to the petrol station so we shall see

Breakdown on saturday here I come

Never, it'll be fine tbf a mate of mine drove from south of durham to newcastle in a 2.0ltr petrol clio with the range showing 0 miles.

Never let my car get that low Saw the result of my dad coasting his last Escort 1.8 zetec to the pump it had managed to suck some s#1t up into the injector rail and never run right after that got Part-xed the following week (the reason why it was so low in the first place)

Emma it'll be fine :) the panda battery should last long enough to keep the heated rear screen warm whilst you push it the last 100 yards to the petrol station ;)

out of fuel.jpg

Distance of approx 40 miles ;), and nearest fuel station being Adsa only about .4 of a mile away :p

But I had a full gerry can so all is good.

why do you work 40 miles away in a petrol station when there are some closer to home?

Ran out of diesel in my C15 about 1/2 a mile from home - it cut out on a mini roundabout, thought I'd stalled it - coasted into pub car park, turned key off and on, it spluttered back into life - I thought phew! Did that three more times used the starter for the last 100 yds to get it outside my flat! then the fuel light came on (n)

Filled him up with 100% veg oil - manually primmed it and it spluttered into life! Ran it for the rest of the summer on 100% veg oil.

Playing fuel light bingo in my cinq atm, on a roundabout the light comes on for a few mins then the guage settles at just over 1/4 tank!

Use silicon bathroom seal stuff for the filler neck. Worked for me;)

As for running out of petrol, people from Edinburgh/surrounding area will know this bit:

Edinburgh City Bypass, west bound. Ran out just before the Dreghorn slip road. Coasted up the slip road and had to stop at the top. Pushed the car over the bridge and into the Shell station at the top.

Its a hell of a push, and a wee hill that you dont notice when driving.

This was at 2am, and some bint in a Land Rover drove right round me and away. Could have helped, silly boot.:p

Never let it happen myself, in my old Metro I used to keep a jerry can full of petrol in the boot, one of those green plastic ones. One day as I was driving around town I started to feel light headed and my legs felt weak. I made it home, got out and was fine once I'd had some fresh air. I looked in the boot and the can had fallen over, the top had somehow come off and it had soaked the entire boot.

I'd been driving round breathing in petrol fumes for about 10 minutes. :yuck:Luckily I had the windows down anyway.

nope never run out of fuel.

take my car down to the red line most of the time.

once drove the stilo from just below sheffield to home with --- range (usually comes when below 30 miles).... and its a 35ish mile journey to home

all because i wanted to fill up at the total.... i think i only just made it lol
