Yeah, was thinking that. Double checked it was the correct side and the discs were right - so paranoid about that kind of stuff. Caliper looks brand new though, can't believe it's a refurb

Also as an update on other bits - checked throttle body re:the idling issues. Think the butterfly valve is perhaps a bit stiff due to the build up of dirt, etc. There's a guide on FF to dismantle and clean so shall do that once it's serviced and such.
Checked the battery/current, etc, still showing about 14.5v unloaded and around 12v with absolutely everything electrical on. Tried it with normal winter night electrics all on - main beam lights, heater, stereo, rear screen heater and was delivering a healthier 13.5 odd so I don't think there's anything to worry about with the alternator at the moment. The noise from cold doesn't seem to be causing a problem as yet but if it gets worse then shall see what develops.

Got an email from eBay saying they'd removed the listing for the caliper I'd gotten and removed the seller from doing business on there. Guess I'm not getting the £15 rebate for sending my old caliper back to them then :laugh:

Messaged you both on FB earlier to confirm this so bit of a fix it meet on Saturday me thinks If weather's good, could well have a BBQ running in the background too :laugh:

Re: the brakes by the way - jacked the Stilo up the other day and checked the NS one as well and it's catching too Nowhere near as bad as the OS one as there's a fair few mil of pad left but it's definitely catching. Could well be the handbrake's out of adjustment or similar hopefully rather than that caliper beginning to go to. Or some WD can be used to free it up, either way we can have a look on Saturday

Isn't there some weird way to adjust handbrake?

Well, the pistons need to be wound in the direction of travel on each side while you're retracting it. Can catch people out, but think many modern calipers have a similar design. Not sure about the handbrake though I think access is from inside the cabin behind a panel below the rear passenger air vents. Think there could well be a thread with the info on FF somewhere - shall have a look at some point in a bit to see if I can find out.

Indeed, another thing that catches people out as they get wound differently depending on the side you're doing. The NS caliper may well not need replacing (I hope), but as far as I know it's best to change discs/pads on both sides to keep things consistent
